A unique experience, hosted by a delightful couple—and the meal Maria fed us was absolutely the best meal I had during my month in Panama—mostly made from ingredients grown on her finca. We were lucky enough to have a bilingual friend with us, but I’m told that despite the fact that Maria and Chong only speak Spanish, the experience is still great. If you get the chance, go around lunch.

This is a must see stop for those visiting Santa Fe. We showed up without reservations or calling ahead and both Maria and Chon welcomed us with open arms to include handing us delicious fresh squeezed citrus drinks. Maria then asked if we would like to eat, of which we said yes. Chon proceeded to give us a tour of the organic farm, showed us how to make coffee, gave us a cup of their wonderful home made brew, and then answered a ton of our questions. At the end of the tour, Maria fed us the perfect home made Panamanian meal and we then thanked them and began of walk back up the mountain to Santa Fe. Highly highly highly recommend this stop! We will be back again, their hospitality was A+.

A property cared for by a lovely old lady and her husband with lots of flowers and plants. During the visit we will learn about the traditional process of coffee processing. Knowledge of Spanish required. Interesting program.

Really great experience and a must when in Santa Fe. Maria and Chon's son took us on a thorough and enthusiastic tour around their farm and we learned how they make their delicious tasting coffee, which you can buy from them directly along with homemade jams. Maria and Chon cooked us a delicious lunch, all organic and sourced from their garden.

One of my favourite things on our trip to Panama was our stop at Maria y Chon's. Their son, Nelson, gave us an interesting tour of the beautiful gardens and organic farm while Maria prepared a lunch feast. Afterwards, Nelson took us through the coffee making process from cherry to grind and we tasted coffee and preserves. Extremely nice people in a beautiful setting, and everything delicious. Muchisimas gracias, Maria, Chon, y Nelson!

Great tour for 10$ per person around the finca with explanations by the son of Maria y Chon. He shows the orchids, the coffee making and the vegetable garden. The tour includes a very good homemade lunch. You also get a fresh fruit juice and a coffee tasting. Afterwards you can buy some coffee or mango jam for 5$.

Maria and Chon have a 10 hectare farm on A bank of the Santa Maria River. We arrived at about 4:00 p.m., and Maria served us freshly squeezed orange juice from trees on their farm. Chon then showed us all the ornamental plants they have including orchids and bromeliads. He then showed us how he makes coffee from the cherry to the bean to the grinding it. Finally, she walked us to his very large garden where he has banana trees, orange trees, tangerine trees peppers, cucumbers, yuca, sorghum, and many other plants. He grows it all organically and tills the land by hand. Maria then served a wonderful dinner of plantains both ripe and green, patacones, salad, yuca and chicken.
