De la Luna Sustainable Living Retreat

I found De La Luna while looking for a remote location from where I could work, be surrounded by nature, and live independently.
What a good choice I made by coming. I stayed almost 2 months. I loved every single day.

About to work, that was perfect as I had electricity and internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
About nature, well, it may be hard to find better. This incredible place has one foot in the jungle and the other one in the sea, and in harmony everything works over there.
And about to live independently, that was perfect as well. You'll have electricity, internet, drinkable water, some food from the garden, and a kayak to go buy your groceries at Medardo shop on the west side of the island.

And if you wish good company, well, there is. Michelle, the awesome owner, is always in to enjoy a nice chat and to share one of her yummy meal.

Actually the only bad part of my stay was to leave, but I wish and think I'll go back one of these days.

You owe it to yourself to go on this adventure! Disconnect from the fast paced world and relax in quiet and beauty. The accomodations are out of this world, and the food is indescribably good. All locally sourced, the meals are amazing!

My girlfriend and I stayed at De la Luna for 3 nights in July of 2016.

What an incredible place. You truly feel like you are at the edge of the world, and the only way to get there is by boat. the views are incredible, the water is immaculate and the environment is more relaxing than anything I have ever experienced.

This brings us to the best part about De la Luna: Michelle Welty. Michelle, you are one of the most incredible women I have ever met. Michelle made my girlfriend and I feel so welcome and comfortable, she cooked every meal for us and made sure we had the most relaxing and joyous adventure of our lives. Words do not do justice for the world Michelle and her employees have created. If you are on the fence about going to De la Luna, don't be. GO. Michelle will make sure you have one of the most incredible experiences of your life.

De La Luna is a one of a kind experience for anyone looking to get off the grid, and experience truly sustainable, local living and eating on a remote tropical island. There are few modern distractions here that will get in the way of deep relaxation. Once you make it out to the island, by boat taxi from Bocas del Toro, you won't want to leave. I can't say enough fantastic things about this place, and the marvelous host, Michelle. She is warm, friendly, knowledgeable, and a fantastic cook! The island itself is quiet, and small. Easy to kayak around in a couple hours. The views from the rooms are just breathtaking as well. Grab a book, grab a snorkel,go night swimming in the bioluminescence, take a hike across the island, or charter a boat to some of the nearby islands for beaches, swimming, and other outstanding local flavor. You'll fall in love at first sight.

I found in this special place, with these special people, something I have sought my entire life but did not know really existed on earth. I've never seen firsthand how beautifully in harmony with nature and with other people we can actually live, but Michelle has created a place of dreams. If you need 69 degree AC and at least one American TV station available, this is perhaps not the droid you're looking for. If you yearn to see and hear and smell and feel our world in a slower, more deliberate, thoughtful, respectful, beautiful way, if you want to hear the music of the universe, get thyself to De La Luna. Your soul will thank you. Tip: ask to help with dishes or the cooking or anything you can. Be of service and experience how simple and lovely life can be lived.

Beautiful place with nice and funny staff. We had a really really great time there. Its getting a little bit expensive with transportation via boat to accommodation and drinks and food but its really worth it! There is paradise. It was the highlight of our panama trip. Best food we ever tasted, great view, relaxing atmosphere. Thanks to hubert and jean samuel for the fantastic days.

High quality secluded getaway with amazing farm-to-table tropical cuisine. Excellent hospitality and plenty to do and see
