San Lorenzo Protected Forest

New Year's Eve.
I was told About the Road that goes No Where, with a huge bridge. Only San Lorenzo fort??

And Shelter Bay Marina. Which I wanted to visit.

Well worth the Drive. I was basically the only one on the road. Crossed the bridge, and the view of Colon is gone, as you drive down the other side of the bridge.

It's like going back in time. Quiet, Beautiful, Stillness. The old Navy Base and it aged buildings.

I drive through the base and into the Marina. And then I started to the Fort not knowing anything about it.

It's was closed. Yet the road to the dock was open. Nice view. Yet it's not setup for anything. Maybe the next Restoration Project for Panamá.

Yet when I got back to the Closed gate. I parked the car and walked a km or so and was called to. When I looked it was a Police Officer. We are closed. Yes Officer, I just walked in after driving all this way and viewed the structure, from the dock below.

I did not realize it was a Fort. I thought is was High-end Estate Development. The reason for the Bridge.

He laughed. And we chatted for 5 mins. And he allowed me to view the Fort. I was fast and took only 10 mins. Yet Loved it.

It you take the time and feel or image what it was like. Building the Fort and protecting it.

Well worth the Drive and Experience.

It could be Developed even futher. Too host and Showcase one of Panamá Gems.

I think the government keep the nature very well.A perfect nature.

Great historical place in Colon, north of Panama. At about 1:30 hours from Panama City through the highway. There is a big and ambitious plan to restore all the adjacent areas.

Excelente lugar histórico de panamá. Calle un poco descuidada, pero vale la pena.
Tiene estacionamiento. Hay que pagar la entrada al lugar. Recomendado

si quieres escapar de los tranque y vivir una experiencia diferente ve a este lugar queda en costa abajo de colon. es rico escuchar las aves, ver los monos en la calle y árboles, ñeques. respirar aire puro. y hasta cerca encuentras playas y costas espectaculares.

En realidad paso por la entrada rumbo a la costa abajo, pero todo el recorrido es una experiencia de paisajes exuberantes y bellos

Maravillosa experiencia con la naturaleza en este bosque la verdad no decepciona nunca, hay varios senderos para visitar y mucha fauna para observar entre esas encontramos monos, variedad de aves, iguanas, coatíes etc.

Hermoso lugar. Contacto con la flora y fauna del lugar, tranquilo para disfrutar de vistas del Canal y las esclusaa nuevas.

Es muy bueno para disfrutar en familia y cuenta con excelentes vistas y siempre hay seguridad de todo tipo.

Un lugar lleno de paz, el bosque de protección San Lorenzo esta rodeado de una vegetación muy intensa, bordeada por el océano Atlántico, muy variada la vegetación. Allí hay venados y monos aulladores, en su hábitat natural. Un lugar por el que no debes dejar de ir y disfrutar

San Lorenzo es un Área Protegida situada en el Caribe panameño muy interesante de visitar, 12 ecosistemas diferentes, entre ellos Manglar y Bosque Húmedo Tropical. Hay una torre de observación de 13 metros de altura donde observar el bosque y las aves. También el patrimonio histórico, el Fuerte de San Lorenzo, tiene unas vistas bellísimas y una historia muy interesante para conocer. Buen sitio para ir solo, en pareja o en familia/amigos, una visita muy completa que abarca historia y naturaleza. Importante llevar comida y agua para pasar el día, igual zapato cerrado y pantalón largo si se desea recorrer los senderos y caminos con seguridad.
