Koteshwor Mahadevsthan Temple give the name Koteshwor in the Kathmandu Valley.
Hence, this temple is located in KOTESHWOR, KATHMANDU.
This temple is a part of 64 jotirlingam and carried a significant value for Hindus.
Temple is designed in a Shikhar Style. The front door of this temple is facing south along with golden pinnacle. Approximately, 4feet tall in height of the lingam is here. Daily rituals has been performing by the Temple Authorities.
Inside this temple you will get other temples like Shree Ram Mandir, Ganesh Mandir, Shree Radha Krishna Mandir, Nandi Statue along with Bhagawati Temple. From Shankhamul to Koteshwor you will find lots of temple that's why this place is so sacred and importance to Hindus. This temple is so sacred it says that all our sin and evil work easily remove and gives us blessings to release from the cycle of rebirth which is impelled by Karma (MOKSHYA).

Koteshwor Mahadevasthan is a very important shrine for hindu shiva worshippers of the Kathmandu valley. The shiva linga is a believed to be self originated but there are no records of its establishment.
There are many folk lore and myths associated with the temple but what makes this temple especial is the aura of the temple which pulls you to devotion and make you spell bound by the environment.
One of the most beautiful temple in town and the environment is serene.

Koteshwar Mahadev (or Kotinath Mahadev) Temple has Shivalinga, which is one of the famous groups of 64 Shiva Lingas. The view from this hill top is beautiful. The white cladded main temple is built in the dome with the Gajur (pinnacle) on top. Temple is usually packed with the worshipers during Shivaratri, Teej, Rishipanchami and Bala Chaturdashi. It is believed that this temple complex is an extension of nearby sacred Sankhamul. The temple complex is spacious and houses temples of other deities including Hanuman, Chhinna Masta Bhagwati, Saptarishi. It is also a popular destination for the Bratabandha (sacred thread ceremonies) and Marriage ceremonies.

At koteshwor mahadevsthan is the one of the historical place in katjmandu.. its has a great view. Infront of this temple their is one government high school l. In this place we can arrange a big program of bhajan kritan and manymore... local people are celebrating marriage also

Place is clean. Everything is managed. And can be used as morning walk also. Its spacious and a beautiful with local shops around. Highlt best to visit in morning or evening. Beside twmple there is madan bhandari park.

Evenings are always beautiful at Koteshwor Mahadevsthan Temple. Hundreds of people come to worship, enjoy the blissful sounds of bells, serene environment and children playing in the ground under the shade of the Peepal tree.

This is a famous temple. Many people come here for darshan. I go here regularly and enjoy my heart. Lord Shiva's aarti held every Saturday is very interesting and memorable.

Temple's are always best place for me to get positive presence of mind. So maybe I am saying this with some bias. You can get surrounded with many people but still get this chill vibe of bliss.

Really peace and holy place to visit. It is a Hindu temple and has a nice environment. It is located in peace place where you don't have to worry about noise pollution and you can enjoy your day peacefully. Highly recommended holy place for all and especially for tourists.
