The Cafe of Bethesda

This little, cozy cafe is a gem on the south side of town. It serves as an anchor point for much of the international community, and has some delicious food with very friendly service. The McMuffin (pictured) is a staple, and the spicy chicken sandwich is a near replica of what you could find in a popular fast food chain in the States. The best part about this cafe is the friendly staff, though. Highly recommended, just don't be in a hurry 😅.

One of our favourite places in Kathmandu. The food is amazing and the staff are such sweet and kind people. I especially love their un-original burger, and the coleslaw. Their coffee is also good.

Unfortunately the service is quite slow. Maybe similar to most Nepali places but seems out of place when everything else is amazing.

There is also a little play area for kids which we love.

I finally got to try this cafe this week and it met my expectations fully. You can tell how the owners have put thought into every detail, making this place so wholesome. Food is spot on as are the service (friendly and attentive) and ambiance (laid back, spacious and chic).

The iced cafe latte was large and delicious. Even when the ice had melted, the coffee didn't feel watered down. The meat lovers omelette is perfect for Keto diet followers or anyone wanting a super protein boost. Fruit bowl had seasonal varieties that kids are sure to enjoy. The McMuffin and hash browns tasted exactly like the ones you find in North America and made me super nostalgic.

The cafe is divided into areas with bar stool (perfect for focused work or solo reading etc.), normal seats best for socialising with friends and a large comfy sofa in the middle great for families or large groups. There is a rack for helmets, bags and other knick-knacks. And even though the cafe is street-side, it seems noise-proof. Bonus: The restrooms are super clean and well-stocked (toilet paper, handsoap and even a moisturising cream).

My only regret is not finding this place sooner!

The salads are definitely my favorite. They also have great coffee and it’s a warm place in the winter season. The layout makes it a nice to place to meet with friends or family. The staff is kind and friendly. Check out their sandwiches too!!

Awesome place to hangout, work or just enjoy a good meal or drinks. Go grab a burger and coffee... or literally anything else on their menu, it's all great. The staffs are also very friendly and it's peaceful.

Clean, safe, quiet and comfortable atmosphere. We enjoyed the mcmuffin, the cinnamon roll, chicken wrap, yogurt parfait, and the buffalo ranchero salad. ALL was delicious!

Excellent place for brunch and work.

An oasis for great coffee and Western cuisine! Owned and run by Matt and a very friendly team, I've spent many a Sunday hunkered down in this hidden gem! A favourite haunt for many Western families on Sundays, the venue has lounges, booths and high tables. There is a selection of excellent foods ranging from pancakes and cooked breakfasts to muffins and cookies for those on the fly. If you're also looking to purchase coffee to use with a French press at home, you can also buy it here!

I ordered the Bethesda Big Breakfast and was wonderfully surprised! Well cooked eggs, moreish sausages, a side of fresh seasonal fruit and a massive pancake that you can coat with Nutella, maple syrup, sugar, peanut butter, jam and more, accompanied by a freshly brewed coffee!

Cannot recommend more highly, especially if you're craving the tastes of home!

Amazing place! I work only a few min down the road and I try to go here every day.
Not only do they have dill pickles (impossible to find here) but TONS of gluten free options! Including gluten free pastries!
My favorite is the gluten free chicken nuggets they taste almost the same as chick-fil-A! Oh and they have Chick-fil-A sauce! Its a PERFECT copy.

The Bethesda Burger is one of the best in the world, no question. Great people too.

I can't say enough about this place. They are wonderful. The food is fresh and so tasty. The staff is friendly and helpful. I love the Real Deal Salad. Also, be sure to get a treat before you leave. A cookie, and cinnamon roll, or a brownie.

Great lunch! Seriously, the menu is perfect for a salad or sandwich kind of day. Also, they serve the biggest pancake ever for breakfast. It’s one of our favorite places.

Delicious food and such and uplifting and comfortable atmosphere. You gotta try the breakfast food, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff and owner are amazing people. I'm definitely coming back here again.
