This hotel Stupa is just Infront of Baudha Stupa Gate... Very peaceful and away from heavy traffic. I love the service of Pawan Rai, who is all rounder. His service is polite, smooth, always smily and to the point talking. He doesn't know about any political issue of any country.

I spend a few nights per year in a hotel, and as you can see from my other reviews, I am mostly satisfied. As long as the room is clean, in order and the service is good, I am happy. Our room in th stupa hotel was not clean and not in order, the service is none existing. Maybe my worst hotel experience ever!

We had booked a suite for four people, in what we belived to be a well behaved hotel. When we arrived in the early evening we realised that our room was dirty with dust and long black hairs all over the bathroom tiles and bright wooden floors. We agreed in a friendly manner with the reception that they would fix it while we went out for the room rest. When we came back, they had not cleaned the room. They answered that they had no other room available, and that our room could not be cleaned because none of those at work did cleaning. Most of all we wanted to leave, but the lady which was standing at the reception behave rudely and told us that if you guys are leaving then you have to pay. So we had no other choice but ready to leave by paying and don't care about our money because if they are doing their business only to earn money not to give good service then we cant stay there and Cant accept it.

I think from coming days we won't be staying there and even we wont be recommending there.

And I also want to mention that if we the people are booking the room for staying there then first of all privacy should be held and there should not be any disturbance by having a phone call at midnight ............soon.

I booked the hotel online for $10.00. When I arrived I was told it was$17.00 with tax :( it was late and I had no other options. The room was dirty and needed painting, and bathtub was filthy with hair in the drain and dirty old shower curtain, so I did not shower. There was arguing downstairs in the lobby until almost 10 pm of which echoed through the hallway to my room. At 5 am I heard alarms going off any banging in the hallways.

The manager was helpful in letting me use his computer to print my plane ticket and getting me a cab to another hotel to pick up some of my gear. I asked how much a taxi was to the airport and he told me 300rps. When it came time to go to the airport he gave me a ride in his own car, which I foolishly thought was a favor. Traffic was bad and it took an hour. Upon arrival I offered 1000rps and he demanded 2000 rps.

Lesson learned ..... don't misinterpret kindness as it often comes with a surprise at a very high price. I did not feel like arguing about the money as I was glad to make it to the airport just in time. However, after not telling me it would be more than 300 rps and demanding 2000 rps, he had the nerve to give me business cards hopping I would tell my friends to stay in his hotel.....? No Way!! Nice guy for a friendly conversation, but not honest and dirty hotel. I would never recommend his hotel to anyone ever!!! This kind of dishonest devious behavior gives Nepal a bad name......!
