LOVED staying at Kumari! First of all, the staff here is so kind and accommodating. They kept our baggage safe for 2 weeks while we trekked as well (for free!). The rooms were cozy with large beds and clean bathrooms. Breakfasts were delicious and we loved the coffee and tea they served. I also think this was the best location! Close to all the hot spots of Thamel but on a quiet street to relax in the mornings and at night. Highly recommend this hotel for your next stay in Kathmandu!

Clean and quite hotel with seriously the nicest staff I've ever met!! They even packed us to-go breakfast boxes for our early morning flight. This will me be my go-to hotel for all future trips to Kathmandu.

The best hotel service I've ever experienced. The staff are so friendly and have gone out of their way to make our stay comfortable. I wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else in Kathmandu.

I would highly recommend this hotel as an ideal base to explore Kathmandu and the surrounding valley. Located on the edge of Thamel it was only a few minutes walk to all the restaurants and bars and the main Durbar Sauare. Situated in a quiet side street it had no noisy traffic.
Rooms were big, cleaned daily, had air con and were comfortable.
The staff were lovely. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were always greeted with a warm welcome when we walked through the hotel doors.
Breakfast was buffet style with eggs made to order. It was a perfect start to the day.
We arranged two trips through the hotel- Kathmandu city tour which covers the main sites in and around the city and a Kathmandu valley tour to Baktapur. Both tours were considerably cheaper than booking through a tour company.

First of all thanks to Mr Pramod for accepting the booking at the last moment when our official booking from Agoda in another property was cancelled abruptly without any information.

We did an early check-in and hotel was quite hospitable to accommodate the early checkin without any hassel.

The property is well maintained and close by Thamel Market, Pubs, Bars, Restaurants etc. We happened to order Lunch from the Hotel itself and found it to be very delicious. The servings were quite good and was well cooked.

The room is quite maintained and clean. Housekeeping staff made sure that your room remains spic and span with all the amenities in the washroom. They provide hair dryer, iron as well. They also have a weighing scale which is quite helpful for travelers boarding any flight (Domestic/International).

It has been a very pleasant experience staying in Kumari Boutique Hotel. The staff is very hospitable and help you to plan your visit in Kathmandu.

Thanks Mr Pramod once again.

We found the hotel on Agoda in recommendations. And to be honest, we didn’t expect anything outstanding. But we were very surprised! They have the best mattresses, moderately soft, but not too soft. They fit my back perfectly and I was able to get a good night's sleep. Very thick and soft towels (I have never seen anything like this before) they absorb water very quickly, thick curtains and even during the day it becomes dark. The rooms are very clean and there is always hot water. At check-in, I incorrectly indicated the number of guests, but the staff was understanding and asked me to pay extra only for the additional breakfast. Breakfast consists of simple but deliciously prepared food. And the masala tea is better than in many restaurants. We were pleased with our stay!

Where you stay often ends up defining how you remember a holiday – unforgettable, passable or total disaster. The Kumari Boutique hotel played a significant role in ensuring that my recent trip to Kathmandu turned out to be of the memorable kind. This is one of those rare instances where I found the hotel not only living up to the rave reviews online, but actually exceeding them in many ways.

Here’s how I would sum up my overall experience with the Kumari Boutique hotel:

Location: As the name suggests, this is a small, boutique hotel located in a quiet, safe neighbourhood of Thamel, the heart of Kathmandu city. It benefits from being tucked away in a cul-de-sac at the end of a narrow bylane which insulates against the noise and bustle of Thamel market. However, the property has easy access to a number of important landmarks in the Nepali capital. I was within 5–15-minute walking distance from Thamel market, the Kathmandu Durbar Square, Narayanhati Palace and a number of well-known restaurants and cafes.
Room & facilities: I found the Deluxe Double Room I had booked slightly smaller than expected, though cozy enough. I had requested a room at the back of the property, which I believe are best if you are looking for some peace and quiet. The bed and pillows were comfortable and I slept well each night I was there. The room came equipped with facilities at par with most four/five star properties, including heating, tea/Coffee maker, free drinking water, an amenities kit, hairdryer, slippers, television with a huge selection of satellite channels and intelligently placed charging points. My room was serviced on a daily basis and the cleanliness standards high throughout the property. I did not face any issues with the hotel wi-fi.
Food: While I did not have the opportunity to dine at the hotel, the buffet breakfast included in the room tariff was quite adequate. The menu changed daily and there was a selection of cold and hot items. I can also vouch for the masala tea served at the hotel, that was really invigorating at the end of a tiring day.
The staff: I saved the best for the last. While there’s a lot going for the Kumari Boutique hotel, I believe the staff is the property’s greatest asset. I would like to especially commend the owner Pramod Paudel who leads by example. While fake, plastic smiles are fairly common in the travel industry, genuine warmth and hospitality are rare. This is what I found while dealing with Mr Pramod. From promptly responding to my queries during the booking process, to arranging airport pickup and providing helpful tips, he is the best ambassador Kumari Boutique hotel could have. And I believe it is this personal involvement and commitment that rubs off on other members of the staff. Even though I was perfectly happy with the breakfast menu already laid out, the staff still offered to make me any dish of my choice. If that’s not going above and beyond, then I don’t know what is.

Suggestions: I certainly don’t want to imply that Kumari Boutique hotel is perfect and there is no scope for improvement. I am sure the property will strive to better itself over time. Some areas that could use immediate attention are:
1.Amenities: For instance, would have preferred liquid soaps to bars and a tissue box in the room. The tv size could do with an upgrade. There was no directory in the room and calling up the reception was thus a hit and miss affair.
2.Food: The quality of the breakfast buffet was inconsistent. While cooked items like paranthas and the grilled fish tasted fine, I did not find the muffin and the cheese particularly great. The variety of fruits were pretty limited too. Since pancakes were a daily staple, they could have been accompanied by a wider choice of toppings like whipped cream, fresh berries, Bananas and Chocolate Chips, Nutella and so on.
3.Services: The hotel could consider providing additional services like money exchange and transport in-house.

Overall: The Kumari Boutique hotel delivers great value for money. Would highly recommend for stay in Kathmandu.

Boss very friendly, slight mistake in booking but managed to resolve with a good deal. Their hot water shower makes me feel so refreshing. Rooms are spacious and very clean. The boss went an extra mile to prepare breakfast for me and my family as we are leaving at 4.30am the next day for a day trip to chandragiri hills.
