Thani mai

At just 20 minutes hike (stairs) from Bandipur Bazar area, this place is amazing to watch the sunrise or sunset. The views are amazing and on clear days you can see the mountain range with the white peak mountains. Make sure to walk a bit further and see the Bandipur mini great wall, a perfect spot for pictures.

This is about a 20 mins hike up the stairs write off the corner of the bazar street.

The view gets so much better as you go up.

On the top is a temple for Hindu Gods.

It takes about one hour for you to get up there, view and come down. Waiting for Sunset could be nice but, I had to rush down since it looked like it was going to rain.

Amazing sunset !! The tranquillity and the energy of this place is fantastic.

The location of Thani Mai Temple is amazing. We reached there after 30 minutes of uphill hike. There is a temple of Thani Mai (Goddess) and few trees. Stones and trees at the top of the hill make the place beautiful.
The view from the hill is splendid. But, the garbage made by the visitors really disappoint although Bandipur bazaar area is so clean.

This is the must go spot when you are in Bandipur. It’s just thirty minute walk from the town.It gives you the bird eye view from the top. On the clear weather one can have the beautiful view of the himalayan’s range. It has Thani Mai temple.

25-35 minutes uphill walk from the Bandipur Main Bazar. The walk might be a bit tough for some people but the spectacular view from up there is worth it.
We went there during mid January. It’s was foggy however we still managed the get the perfect morning sunrise view from the top. It’s was a refreshing walk. We stayed there for 1 hours to enjoy the view. It could not get better than that. It was worth it. The temple up there was smaller than we expected but the walk was amazing.

Don’t forget to take water and food, if you want to stay longer.

Steep steps lead you within 30 min. up to the temple. Along the way are benches for rest and chill. The temple itself is small, old and therefore a beauty to take a picture of. The surrounding landscape and the view are stunning from up there - I recommend sunset or even sunrise.

Good for morning hike while you are staying in Bandipur. It’s a beautiful viewpoint also.

Breathtaking views for sunset and sunrise!

A fine place to appreciate the majesty of the Himalayas.
Also met an influencer called Anil Sunar when I was here and he put me in one of his videos!

Just a wow. But unfortunately it was not a clear day. Even it was beautiful place. Suggested to visit.

The hike up is easy and rewarding and the views are beautiful, or would be if it weren’t for the haze that hangs over much of the area. The temple itself is not why you climb but is a nice place. Sunrise is recommended and it was the only time we got any real glimpse of the mountains before they were swallowed but the later day’s haze from the Asian Brown Cloud.

A hilltop paradise. must visit in bandipur.

Just in 15 minutes stiff hike from bandipur Bazar, this is the nice place to have wonderful view of sunset in the evening. Lokely place. We felt relaxed there. Must try place.

The temple atop the hill is a great place to observe sunrise and sunset. Around half an hour's hike from the bandipur bazaar, the place is a must-visit in bandipur.

This small temple is in the top of the mountains and have a wonderfull conection between the spiritual and the nature. This is a good point to see the sundown in Bandipur and make a medititation or a pray.
