I had the pleasure of spending two wonderful nights at this hotel restaurant nestled in the beautiful countryside of Northern Netherlands. Throughout my stay, I was deeply touched by the warmth and friendliness of the Dutch people. As an international student from China, traveling all the way from The Hague, I initially chose this hotel to explore the northern region of the Netherlands during my weekend break. Little did I know, I would encounter unexpected warmth and kindness here.

The ambiance of the restaurant is incredibly elegant, situated within a villa, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Despite arriving at the restaurant at 9:30 in the evening, well past closing time, a kind-hearted waitress went out of her way to personally prepare a "special dinner" for me, which turned out to be bread with butter. Though simple, it was filled with her love and care. Despite my sincere apologies for arriving late due to my oversight, she greeted me with genuine warmth and understanding, which truly touched my heart and exemplified the kindness of the Dutch people.

Although I insisted on paying 20 euros as a token of appreciation for the food and her kindness, her manager adamantly refused my payment and only charged me 8 euros, essentially covering the cost of the food. Their selflessness and generosity moved me deeply, and I am sincerely grateful to the waitress and her manager for providing me with a dinner that money cannot buy and for showing me the kindness and warmth of the Dutch people.

Overall, my experience at Restaurant Waddengenot was truly memorable, and I will cherish this moment forever. If I ever have the opportunity to visit the northern Netherlands again, I will definitely revisit this restaurant. Thank you for your hospitality and delicious food!

We got back from Wadlopen around 8:30 pm and then went straight to dinner. This was amazing because everyone had a free shot of Waddengenot Kruidenlikeur. Then we had a 3 course meal. My friend ordered the bread board appetizer which had bread, aioli, tapenade, herb butter and regular butter. I ordered the Mustard Soup which is from Groningen. My other friends ordered the Tomato soup. These portions were huge, like American sized portions. Amazing especially after mudflat walking. We also ordered some beers: the local blonde as well as the local bock. Nice beers! Next we had our next course which was the main dishes. I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel. My friends got the fish and chips as well as the beatroot burger. Once again portions were large which is a plus. The dishes also had fries, coleslaw and salad to share. Tried everything and all super good but I really enjoyed the schnitzel. For the last course, it was dessert and we all got the ice cream except for one who got the tea. The ice cream was absolutely loaded. It had chocolate crumbles, whipped cream, caramel sauce, white chocolate and some edible coffee beans. Great way to end the meal and we all couldn't finish the ice cream, too full. Not sure why this place got low review but I went way beyond expectations.

Mussels ... not from Brussels (#jeanclaudevandamme), but Pieterburen.. Nicely prepared with salicornia and provided with a board with fresh potatoes and homemade vegetables. The starter was a cold smoked salmon prepared by a retired man. And of course the shrimp from Groningen is not lacking in the mustard soup.

Very nice restaurant, very disappointed they didnt have seal on the menu, despite having advertised it on the outside...

Geen zin om te koken, dus bij Waddengenot vissoep en geitenkaassalade gegeten. Was allebei super lekker. Dit ga ik vaker doen.

Sehr schönes Lokal in einem niedlichen kleinen Ort. Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Das Essen war auch super lecker. Die Bouillabaisse war ein Traum und auch der Räucherfisch hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Die reichhaltigen Beilagen rundeten das Ganze noch ab.
Wären wir nicht nur auf der Durchreise, würden wir auf jeden Fall wieder kommen.

Hier bijna niet gaan eten ivm de recensies. We zaten echter in het hotel en hadden geen zin meer om ergens naartoe te gaan. We waren positief verrast. Vriendelijk personeel en prima eten voor een goede prijs.

We hebben in 6 juni op de wadden gelopen. Bij terugkomst hotel, zou de keuken om 21:00 gesloten zijn, maar omdat we later terug waren bleef die open en hebben we echt genoten van ons steak menu. Bediening heel goed en was het eten heerlijk. Heeft onze dag wel helemaal compleet gemaakt!!

Verrassend lekker vegetarisch gegeten, rösti van biet met geitenkaas weer eens wat anders als al die vleesvervangers. Complimenten!!

Goed restaurant, vriendelijk personeel en een heel goede keuken. Een aanrader.

Vriendelijke bediening op het terras, goede kwaliteit en portie gebak en drinken. Snelle service door middel van een digitaal bestel systeem. Het terras is ruim opgezet. In de omgeving zijn voldoende parkeergelegenheden en bezienswaardigheden.

Estaba todo muy rico, unos platos muy completos y el personal muy amable, recomendable...

Vriendelijke bediening en lekker eten. Rekening houden met de kaart (over het algemeen vis) een aanrader.
