Seal Rehabilitation and Research Centre

Nice centre, although small for what you pay for entry. On the other hand, they do a lot of good work so I don't mind paying a bit more. Lots of info in Dutch, English and German, with all staff I spoke to able to speak English to me. The talk during seal feeding was done in Dutch and then in English which I liked. All the seals look in great condition. Food was also very good.

It's a place to help seals. Hence, don't ask for anything amusing or entertaining. Appreciate and respect the center's work and efforts.

Awesome location and cute seals. The facility does good work regarding the survival of many seal species. Great gift shop and very nice cafe/lounge area available.

We came especially for a seal release trip. A truely apectacular experience. The staff and volunteers are amazing, eveything was just well organized and fun, the seals were both released in a sandbank after a 30 min pleasant boat ride. We then watched them play and get used to the new environment. Highly recommended

Loved the place! I really enjoyed the experience of seeing the seals really close. You can clearly understand how this centre does a great job taking care of the animals, the staff treat them with so much love and dedication, and also are very kind to the visitors and eager to explain how the take care and release the seals.

Must visit place! It is interesting to see the seals are rehabilitated in three steps. Lot of details and important information regarding how we as humans are destroying the nature. Whole centre is well organised, and the stuff is really helpful. Big parking place is nearby.

Cute seals, friendly staff, and an incredible mission. The seals are incredibly well taken care of and the staff and volunteers are incredibly knowledgeable. All seals are nursed back to health and released back to the sea, and it's amazing to see.

Great place to spend the day, it's not a huge place, but plenty of things to do including many interactive activities. Also do not miss the cinema, it was a surprisingly good informative movie.

What an amazing experience ♥ the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and really care for the seals. You learn so much about them and their work - can only recommend!!! I don’t know why people here say it’s small. This place works on a donation-basis and for that the premise and facilities for the seals are huge. We watched seals being fed, one received medicine for an eye infection, and staff is super happy to answer questions and tell you more about the seals.

Wonderfull place to bring Kids...not too crowded... indoor and outdoor... informativ...friendly and helpfull Personal... and the seals are adorable... a nice place where you can spend 1-2 hours with your Kids... come shortly before noon to Attend the feeding...we loved it

This is a great place. We always come and visit. Such great people saving seals.
Really a learning tour and seeing the 3 steps of the rehab is a great lesson and the restaurant is great (and "green-oriented") . Be sure to visit and splurge in the shop too, it's for a good cause :)

I went there this morning and it's been one of the best places I've been in the Netherlands. There are very cute seals and they teach you about how they take care of the seals and how they have found it. It's lovely.

What a special place that does a fantastic job of conservation for the seals. Very great film, super informative. In Dutch, with English subtitles.

Baby seals! If you have the chance take the „behind the scene“ tour, also available in English!! Informative exhibition, screening of movies about the seal rescue & release and also a gift shop as well as a nice outside area with cafeteria, outside seating and play area for kids. Approximately 30 min drive from Groningen.

Great experience! I learned much about seals and it was such a pleasure to watch those cuties. The tour starts with a short film about the seals and it explains very well what exactly is done for them in the center. Very friendly staff. This tour made my week, definitely recommend, if you love animals.
