Great atmosphere and lovely owners! The food is also worth it. I walked there after visiting the garden/church next door. It is really worth it!

The day I had to leave Pieterburen for home, I had lunch at Bertje Jens around noon. As lunchtime was just about to begin, it was quiet, and we could choose a cozy table in the corner. The owner gave us our menus and we perused the nice selection of dishes presented. I chose the goat cheese salad with pecans and sweet-and-sour onions, which was accompanied by a very nicely balanced dressing. The cook adds locally grown herbs and flowers that makes it discernible from others I’ve had. It was such a good salad that I had absolute faith in their home baked cakes and I wasn’t disappointed. The almond-and-honey cake was absolutely delicious. By the time we left, the place was almost full and justifiably so.

The owners deserve 5 stars. They have created a nice vegetarian restaurant with great ambiance and food. When the weather is warm enough, I recommend getting a table in their garden!

One of the best lunches I have had in a long time, located in an absolute paradise. Went to see the zeehonden and was not expecting to be blown away when it came to the food. Tried the courgette and feta quiche and it was absolutely fantastic (side salad was also great), and the equally delicious bread pudding. Everything was 10/10. Will definitely return to eat here again!!!!

A cute, cosy, and peaceful cafe we found on a whim. The interior is very homely and quiet, and it seems everything is prepared with great care. We had a hot chocolate, tea, and a delicious slice of chocolate cake. It was indulgent and the frosting was amazing. Prices are amazing - in total we spent something like 10 euros. Highly recommend :)

Not only tasty, but also surprisingly original. Take the watermelon lemonade with a large square ice cube, and the Victoria sponge cake with fresh fruit. This was followed by a cold gazpacho-like soup of peas, Indian rolls and a sublime toast with tomato. Fantastic microbrewed beer on the menu...and of course cider!

Uniek plekje in een groene omgeving in een prachtig pand. Zelden in zo'n mooi pand geluncht. Aandacht besteed aan een intieme kaart waar de toast met zwarte bonen een absolute aanrader is! Goede combinatie van kruiden, saus en structuur. Het gebak was ook heerlie de peerlie. Personeel is vriendelijk. Absoluut hier lunchen als je in de buurt bent, maar ook waard om hiervoor vanuit Groningen te rijden. Misschien niet de juiste plek als je het liefst voor een normale uitsmijter met spek kiest, de kaart is vegetarisch en biologisch met aandacht voor natuur.

Wat dit Tuincafé echt bijzonder maakt, is hun toewijding aan duurzaamheid en lokale producten. De nadruk op versheid en kwaliteit is duidelijk in elke hap te proeven. Voor wie op zoek is naar een heerlijke maaltijd te midden van de natuur, is Tuincafé Bertje Jens absoluut een must-visit adres langs het Pieterpad. Dankjullie wel, tot snel!

Hier kun je super heerlijk rustig zitten, heerlijk zelf gebakken taart of cake. Alles biologisch.

Heerlijk gegeten. De kaart verandert elke keer, maar wij hadden een heerlijke pannenkoek met gekarameliseerde kool en een quiche met geitenkaas. Zeker een aanrader! De locatie is ook leuk in een oud kapelletje.

Geweldige atmosfeer en lieve eigenaren! Het eten is het ook zeker waard. We waren er heen gelopen na een bezoek bij de zeehonden, je bent er zo. ❤

We waren met een groep vriendinnen lunchen en aan alles was gedacht, speciale dieetwensen en tot in de puntjes uitgewerkt! Heel erg aan te raden ik kom graag weer terug :)

Wat een leuk plekje! Vriendelijk personeel en heerlijk genoten van een Cappuccino met appelgebak na een wandeling van 11 km. Top 👌

Bijzonder en lekker vegatarisch eten. Erg knus restaurantje. Alleen jammer dat de keuze op de kaart wat karig is. Maar goed, dat is een mening. Wellicht dat anderen dit genoeg vinden.

Oase van rust. Heerlijke koffie met iets erbij, in ons geval choco avocade cake en honing amandel taart. Zeker een aanrader. Wij komen hier nog een keer terug.
