De Waldhoorn

Great Veluwe cuisine in a cozy setting. Service is greatly attentive and helpful, even considering that we are foreign customers (I was visiting with my family who are not English speakers), greatly explained the menu all the time. Felt like home. Came back also for breakfast (more on the brunch side - also very nice).

So delicious and a cute shop. There was a chicken walking around the terrace area 😅. Outside you can smell the boerderij but not inside. Burgers and fries were astounding, and the staff were so sweet.

Amazing place to grab some dutch food. Staff is super friendly and the kitchen follows special instruction for my burger perfectly. The food was amazing probably one of the best burger and fries i have ever eaten.

I am an American visiting friends in The Netherlands for three weeks and last week, I visited De Waldhoorn in Otterlo, The Netherlands.

I was in this beautiful part of The Netherlands visiting the Kroller-Mueller Museum nearby as well as wandering the Velowe woods area and national park.

After the museum, where we had timed tickets for 10.30am, we stopped at De Waldhoorn which is at the intersection of the main road we took from Utrecht.

De Waldhoorn has an indoor space, but really the gem is the large outdoor area (with smoking and non-smoking sections).

On a fine day, the patio area will be packed with guests (we were there on a Wednesday for lunch and it was popular).

I had the dikbil burger, which is a particularly type of Dutch meat. It was 15 euros and came with fries. I enjoyed it.

Next door was a farmers market selling fruit, and I bought some oranges.

There is plenty of free parking across the street.

Highly recommend De Waldhoorn if you are visiting Kroller Muller or Otterlo for another reason.

Fantastic restaurant with amazing tasty dishes. The beef stew is highly recommended!

If the weather allows it, sit outside and enjoy a great culinary experience.

There are plenty of parking spots in the vicinity (paying from Monday to Saturday).

Nice restaurant with a good vibe close to the Veluwe. The restaurant actually offers local dishes from this area, including game from the Veluwe. If you want to go out for dinner and you are looking for something bit special, this is the place to go. The portions of the soups and starters are quite big and main course (runder pannegies) Server with fries is more then enough. The staff is friendly and well trained and the atmosphere in the restaurant is matching with their menu and location of the restaurant

It's nice to find a place that offers vegan options in Otterlo. The coffee was meh, service was attentive and the food was good.

Went there for Sunday late lunch. Almost full but there were some free spots. Live music!
Tried flammkuchen, slightly different than original recipie, but it was OK.
Friendly staf.

Worth a visit!! Staff is very helpful and friendly. There are enough people working outside so there is no time wasted on waiting. A lot of local products are used. Highly recommend!

Dogs are treated well too

Very creative and absolutely delicious food. The waiters/ waitresses are just as amazing and friendly.
And extra points because they also has a “menu card for dogs”! Something I have never seen before.
Definitely a gem of a place to eat 😊

P.S: the mousse au chocolat and pancakes are to die for!

De waldhorn is een crazy banger. Beste Carpaccio ever. Amazing location.

Great atmosphere, wonderful and clean toilets! Great service, delicious food😍 goat cheese crème brûlée is absolutely delicious

Nice touch! We really enjoyed ourselves at the waldhoorn last evening. We came in just for a drink and eventually after a quick visit to the nearby café 'driester' decided to come back and stay for dinner as well. Wonderful staff, good atmosphere and of course nice diner as well to top it off 😁. The Waldhoorn works with local products and if you decide to stay be sure to check out there local beer.

Very nice place, cozy, warm and romantic…

Great place! Fantastic atmosphere. We went on a Sunday just before 18:00. There was love music outside and we got in before the dinner rush. Good was REALLY good. Our group had the pork skewers, steak, beef stew and curry. Everyone really liked their meal. Definitely recommend.
