This is one of the hidden beauties of the Netherlands. Hard to fine great to do affordable. Check the table in advance, make sure you got your tickets brin GB ur children with u and have fun. The station is one of a few. It is highly recommended to start from the beginning.

Great museum of you're into trains and honestly who isn't. Gives you a great overview of the history of steam trains and trams in the Netherlands since the industrial revolution. A ride with the train is great fun.

This station lies between Hoorn and Mendemblik the two end stations of the 19th century steam train line in the North of the Netherlands. Everything including the tracks, signalling and communicating systems as well as the renovated coaches and steam train retain their originality. Postal system and supporting staffs including station master wear the old look. Fantastic 90 minute ride on a steam train to catch another heritage steamer 'Friesland' from Mandemblik to Ackhuizan.

Great experience, well worth the visit.
The train ferry combination is great. But if you do not have museum tickets, do not get off at the first ferry stop.

A day trip for everyone. It is nice to feel the past with a steam train and if it is in spring you can see the tulips field

An absolute fantastic trip back in time, the staff there are so friendly they will tell you all about the trains history and how steam is made. Make sure you go visit when you're in Hoorn

Loved it the trip on the steam tram was great and the ship was very interesting we got off at the outdoor museum. The people at the Stoomtram were wonderful and were great fun.
