The Fat Mermaid

Quick, delicious, and super cute little restaurant right by the beach. My family and I stopped by here for Mother's Day. I saw that they had fish tacos, so that was what I had ordered. For me it was good, being originally from California where fish tacos are king, these somewhat hit the spot, the shell was a hard corn tortilla and the fish was grilled but not breaded, and it was topped with fresh Pico de Gallo of some type (fresh tomatoes, cilantro, and red onions) it was delicious. For the drink I ordered the mermaid something, I forget, but I will say it needed just a tad bit of sweetner, still I enjoyed it on the nice warm weather by the beach. The staff was great, busy as they had lots of places to sit, but they were all pretty friendly and spoke English. 😅 I'd probably come back and better more appropriate beach fashion like (as in swimsuit and all) *not that it was required.

We had an amazing breakfast with everything you could need. The BIG breakfast is no lie, it really is big! Staff was super friendly and we got some bonus Butter Koken at the end that was delicious. We are definitely coming back to try the tacos! ☺

Really awesome place, fabulous service, excellent food. We have been served very quick, the taste, temperature of the food was all correct. The recommendations given by the waitress were perfect! I totally recommend visiting the place!

Very nice place. We went here yesterday which was unfortunate their last day of this season. Will definitely come back next year. The food is delicious and has so much flavour. Hoping for more vegan options next year :) The service was great too. Nice interior and exterior design. Thank you!

Try the fish of the day. I ate it for the second time and no regrets so far. The place is cozy, but take a little bit of time to cook. Location is perfect: near the beach. When is cold there is a fire spots outside.

Very sweet people work here. Loved the relaxed atmosphere and as far as my lunch I had fish tacos and enjoyed them a lot. Simple and flavorful.

I really liked the food here. We went on one of the rare warm days and managed to snag a table on the beach. Feet in the sand and all. It was somehow not as crowded as the places further along the beach even though it’s better! The service was slow but we were generally relaxed like everyone else around so it wasn’t a big deal. Tacos with spare rib meat were so yummy and nice portion sizes. We had to ask a few times for more bread—which was silly since they brought up this huge platter of dips and spreads with like three slices—but it always came and no one complained or charged us extra. I tried one of their cocktails and liked it, something with watermelon. Overall it was a nice day. My only complaint, which I obviously won’t dock the place for, was the hundred or so lady bugs flying around the table, on the umbrella, on our clothes and in the general area lol. Was my first time at that beach though, so maybe it’s a thing. Obviously not a big deal but still worth mentioning for anyone not too keen on bugs, even friendly ones :)

Very nice service, very polite and helpful.
We sat in the sun, but it wasn't really windy.
Beer was delicious. Don't know about the food, but a sign said they use organic local products.
Amazing ocean view whilst sitting on a bench with a little private fire place, what's not to like.
The ashtray should have been something windproof.
Will go there again.
