One of the best museums in The Hague. Panaroma experience is impressive. There are a lot of information on creating panaroma and technical drawings. If you are interested in history of art, you can find information on The Hague school. You can enjoy folding maps in a DIY panaroma activity. Highly recommended!

My first visit to a Panoramic Art Museum. The museum is not very huge and you can spend a decent 1.5 hours for the complete tour. The panoramic painting was the highlight and a must see!

The panoramic experience was amazing. I have never seen anything like that before. The staff at the panorama painting was really helpful and knowledgeable. Use the binoculars to inspect the minute details. I believe it was worth my time and money. A must see experience if you have time. The whole visit can be done in 30-60 minutes.

Museum at first seemed like any other until you actually see the artists use of panoramic visual with art and physical items. This representation is incredibly done as you climb the stairs and are presented once you complete the climb. A very unique, one of a kind experience that I found very well done.

Absolutely loved the exhibition on Suze Robertson... What an artist, and her life is an inspiration.

Also, the panorama is so good, I did not expect it to be that huge, just wow.

The Panorama, which is the highlight, is a masterpiece! It is almost inconceivable as to how these brilliant artists managed to capture an all round view and paint it in such continuity, detail and depth! It is a treasure in its own right and we should be grateful to the keepers for conserving such a beautiful structure which is a testimony to the genius of these artists. Do look for the binoculars on the panorama deck to peer into the fine details! A proper viewing of the panorama itself takes about 30 to 45 minutes.

P.S. The other exhibit showing a German artists prowess also had a fun "flexa-gon" map that you can make while you sit there with instructions.

It's a really great and surprising experience. I didn't know what to expect and was not let down. You even have goggles to check the details! And with sound effects and all, it's like you're in the dunes. Too bad some of the exhibition was closed. The panorama itself is a great experience anyway. Highly recommended both for adults and kids

Absolutely beautiful! I'm from the Netherlands and never saw this before. My mother wanted to show this to us on our girls day. I am not a big fan of musea, but this was a great way to fill our day. Lots of history about mr and mrs Mesdag.

The famous painting. Amazing but got a little dizzy so didn't spend so much time in there.
The museum has free lockers and a nice gift shop.

You will firstly get to know the background of this panorama before enjoying the stunning piece of art. Worth visiting!!

This panorama is really awesome. It can only be understood on the spot. Then you wonder how such a large and effective work of art was made so long ago.

I have never seen this kind of painting, a "living" one, transposing you in another time, another age. The whole museum is cetered around the paintings of Mesdag and his wife, with a little modernity brought by the photgraphy expo. We liked this small museum very much

The Panorama is well worth the entry price alone. Easily one of the most interesting artworks I've ever seen, and the setting for it works very well with the temperature, lighting, sound, and overall feel of the location.

Panorama Mesdag is a panorama by Hendrik Willem Mesdag. Housed in a purpose-built museum in The Hague, the panorama is a cylindrical painting more than 14 meters high and about 40 meters in diameter (120 meters in circumference). From an observation gallery in the centre of the room the cylindrical perspective creates the illusion that the viewer is on a high sand dune overlooking the sea, beaches and village of Scheveningen in the late 19th century.

This is a very special museum. The painting itself is something of a masterpiece by Mesdag — vivid and full of detail — and the panorama really allows you to see it and be enveloped in it. It’s been tastefully restored with the old charm you’d expect of a 19th century panorama.

Pictures cannot do it justice — you need to be there in the room to experience it and be immersed in the atmosphere. You almost feel as though you are at the seaside at that time. A lovely, lovely museum. Spent 30 minutes to an hour and I cannot recommend enough if you’re in The Hague.

Café and toilet facilities are available.
