Nice place to listen to music from professionals. We went there for the orchestra Lord of the Sounds and it was amazing. Seats are comfortable and the view in the main hall is perfect.

Great architecture, a unique combination of art-déco, art-nouveau and classicism. Its great hall has astoundingly good acoustics, easily the best in the country (and yes, I've been to the Amsterdam Concertgebouw multiple times). Orchestral sound in the great hall of De Vereeniging is warm, creamy and reverberant, but also very detailed and accurate.

I usually buy the cheaper tickets for the side balcony. Sound there is very good. But you get the best experience with seats on the main floor.
Sitting there, my sister described the sound of the hall as being inside a lava-lamp: sound from the orchestra rises up, converges, mingles and then warmly decends back to envelope the audience.

Concerts are somehow (city too small, too many seats? Or just bad marketing?) never sold out, so you can even get tickets minutes before concerts. Go see and hear the Phion orchestra when you get the chance: they are amazing and play the hall to its fullest potential, especially in Mahler or Bruckner.
