Had the beans with minced pork and sauteed lamb. Was cooked very well with real flavours coming through. Could have been a bit stronger, but I guess that wouldn't suit the Dutch palate. Will visit again!

When you think of a place with great service you think of this place. Nice attentive staff combined with great food! The portions are quite big!

Although it does not have a traditional (and typical) exotic look, Hotspot is in my opinion the best Chinese restaurant in Leiden to get authentic Chinese food! You can find some of the most popular dishes in China there, and the taste is AMAZING even by Chinese standard. The owner is an amazing person too, who takes her job seriously with respectable dignity, and always happy to share the experiences of being a Chinese-Dutch and of the non-Western communities. If any complaint, it's probably that the pricing is leaning towards the more expensive side (by my personal preference), though still by a reasonable margin and never like the over-charged restaurants where you can't even get full by the money you pay. Whenever people ask for Chinese food in Leiden, I also recommend Hotspot!

So far, I’ve been here twice and never have I been disappointed. When you walk in they will hang your coat for you which k haven’t seen anywhere else. The food doesn’t take a long time at all. I got the kimchi ramen and the vegetarian dumplings and they were delicious. At the end the gave me some hot towels which was very kind of them. I will definitely come again to this amazing restaurant

Amazing place!
The atmosphere and setting was wonderful. We had dinner, tried the chicken, the lamb and the fish… all amazing and tasty. I recommend going there as a group and sharing different dishes on a round circling table! So much fun… the service was also very friendly. Would certainly go again.

What a gem!
Every dish that came out was better than the other! This will be the only place you will want to eat in Leiden. Or ever to be honest.
I still dream about that aubergine dish, that perfectly seasoned lamb, and the fish that basically took its last “breath” on the plate, it was that fresh!
The staff was super lovely and accommodating! You feel very welcome :)
My only recommendation is to open another restaurant in Amsterdam so I can eat there more often!

We found the place just by pure coincidence because we didn’t have luck in other places due the availability.

Surprisingly Hotspot had quite some tables available and since the moment we entered to the place the staff was super friendly and the service also nice.

There is a lot of variety of food and they also had a special edition of a beer I like.

Fantastic experience! I have Celiac and felt completely safe and was not in pain after. The owner took time to discuss the whole menu, my many options to choose from, and what flavors worked well together. My son and husband also really enjoyed the food. This place is amazing - only wish I was closer than America!

I had the rice noodles soup with beef and I loved it. Very nice staff and place. Beef was very tender and I think the rice noodles were homemade.

I will be humbly say this is the best chinese restaurant in the Netherlands. The dishes here are so authentic and delicious. The Sichuan dishes here is even better than I had in 四川.

This is my comfort place where I treat myself.

Therefore I am so grateful that this restaurant survived through COVID and stay innovative, friendly as before.

I went on my own to have a saturday lunch and was amazed! I had boba coconut tea that was pefectly balanced and boba had a nice chew. Black bean chicken was tender and full of delicious umami flavor. It also came with a bowl of rice. 10/10 would recommend.

Authentic, well-prepared chinese food (I can say that having lived in Shanghai for 6 years). Large choice of dishes. Friendly service in a cosy restaurant. Will be making this a regular favourite for dining chinese in Leiden !
