This place is very close to the central, and it has a cozy atmosphere at outside area which I really liked.
Service may be a little bit slow due to the limited waitresses in a huge service area.
We liked everything we ordered especially carpaccio 🤤🤤

A restaurant located in a nice stylish house. Fast service. Solid beer selection. The hamburger and small snack were excellent.

We spent a very nice Friday evening in this super central place really close to the train station . Nice food, friendly staff and super quick service . Inside the place is very nice and cozy, we ate on an high table and chairs without any problems, they were really comfortable indeed . The place has different set as bar and restaurant . I have noticed space with tables outside too, with the nice weather in a day time for sure has to be very nice to eat and drink outside . I definitely recommend to visit this place if you are around Leiden .

We always like to come back to Van Der Werff not only because of the good food and service but there is something familiar about this place that makes you feel comfortable. One of my best starters there is the French onion soup and for the main if you like spare ribs try their asian fusion spare ribs that is served with delicious chips. When the weather is nice we always enjoy drinks in their outdoor area. Highly recommend this place for family/friends outing!

Nice and cosy place with typical Dutch vibe. Service was very good and helpful! Drop by for a coffee or quick meal, it's worth it. Definitely reccomended! P.s. If you come with a car, there is nearby parking garage with enough space. Around caffe there are many sights to visit, so it's a good starting point.

Location, location, location. As well as great food and beer selection. If you find yourself in Leiden, then find Stadscafe Van der Werff. You will be glad that you put in the effort.

Excellent building and location, and a beautiful view. Great service and the lunch was very good.

Very friendly and fast service. We had Caesars Salade and Chicken. Both dishes were very delicious. The waitress knew the menue card well and helped us choosing the right wine. She offered us the English version of rhe menue card after finding out we were foreign. Thanks for a great time and a delicious diner.

It seems that this place is one of the most popular in Leiden. It was almost full when we arrived and it stayed like that until 9 p.m. Despite this we enjoyed our dinner and had a really good time. The service was perfect, the meals were delicious, the beer (and tea) also. It was possible to get some veggie burgers, they were tasty too. If you want to have a drink or meal here, it is better to book a table in advance.

Very cozy place but bit expensive.

Went to a private event and a few random nights here. This is a chill and fun bar, near the hr station, so easy to get home.

A quiet place in the heart of lightning next to a nice bar.

Van der Werff is my go-to for laidback get-togethers. Their wide range of beers and snacks ensure that all tastes are catered for. Make sure to try their homebrewn 'pronckstuk', a fresh blonde beer brewn with grapefruit and rosemary which remains my all-time favorite beer to this day.

Nice place, not too busy. Lunch menu is limited but what they have is sufficient and tasty. Prices are reasonable for the area and staff very friendly!!

Large outdoor area with heaters and umbrellas. We stopped off late at night for a nightcap and enjoyed the buzz of the atmosphere. Quick service for somewhere so full. Very enjoyable.

Nice ambience, a must-go-to especially when the afternoon sunlight hit the terrace of the cafe. A glass of beer or cocktail together with the sun warmth will perfect the day. The sate (chicken skewer) is very worth it and one of the most delicious I've ever had in NL and very close to the authentic ones from Indonesia
