Spoed- & Verwijskliniek voor Dieren

It's the care for both the animal and the human that's great. Our 14 year old Russell Terrier suddenly couldn't breathe and our everyday vet discovered a tumor in his chest, causing fluid to block his lungs from expanding. It was essentially euthanasia or action. Quickly sent us to Evidensia in Barendrecht, where we discovered the most skilled, caring and friendly people. We had a number of procedures over the course of a week, finishing in a tumor removal surgery and a couple of nights where he stayed overnight.

Most importantly the surgery was a success and a week later he's already prancing about almost like normal. We will have a bit more time with him thanks to their skills.

They advised fairly along the way. Clearly there is a cost dimension to consider, and they are up front about it. They are as equally up front about the risks and opportunities of different approaches. And also reminding that euthanasia is also a loving choice. No pressure, just advice and support.

It's an animal hospital. The waiting room is filled with nervous people and animals in need. I watched as the team at the front desk switched from joyous reunions of healed animals to processing the final transaction of an unexpectedly unwell cat who didn't make it. Compassion and understanding at each moment. Chapeau.

Nice touches like pictures and videos. Short updates. Little hearts on his name with his meds and things to come home. A feeling of sincere people really enjoying what they do.

I hope to not need their services again. But if I do, I'll be glad to end up here.

Unfortunately yesterday we were there with our beloved Lara. Her condition was desperate and there was nothing they could do to save her. None the less everyone among the staff was amazing with her and with us. They were very clear about the options we had and their consequences. The best choice was to let Lara go. It was not easy but the vet that assisted us was amazing: professional, respectful towards us and Lara, loving towards Lara. Thank you for making this difficult experience a little bit easier for us, Lara and our other dog Aron. For us you are one of the best vet clinics in the Netherlands.

I can't thank Dr. Nele Walschot and the wonderful team at Evidensia enough for the incredible care they provided to my precious puppy. Around two months ago, my little furball had a terrifying encounter with a car. The initial check-up showed no obvious signs of injury, but it was Dr. Walschot's exceptional expertise and warm-hearted nature that uncovered a growth plate fracture during a follow-up examination.

The accurate judgment avoid my puppy walking with a limp. Also Thanks to Nele’s surgical skill and expertise, the operation was a resounding success. Now, after just two months, my pup is happily running around like any other healthy dog. What’s more, every time we do the after check with her, her was always smiling and showed enough care for my puppy. It's not hard to see that the team are good veterinarian who really loves animals

The vet nurse who told us everything about aftercare also provided us with detailed instructions with patience and great attitude, I am really sorry I forget her name but I also would like to thank her. What’s worth mentioning is that Evidensia is also incredibly foreigner-friendly. Their English-speaking staff made communication a breeze, and I genuinely appreciate their efforts.

This clinic saved my dog's life! She accidentally ingested a toxic painkiller when we were travelling through the Netherlands on our way home to the UK. They treated her immediately on a Sunday morning even though they were clearly busy, and their quick and effective treatment meant that she is now home safe and sound with no lasting effects. Thankyou so much!

I wouldn't hesitate to go for the surgery overthere myself. State of the art equipment and amazing stuff. Starting from USG that was recommended by my own vet ending with surgery - every owner worst nightmare. But I've never seen my dog so calm in the doctor's office. Absolutely amazing approach to the animal but also to me as the owner. And most important - surgery was a success, my Love is all good now. Before surgery I was crying for almost a week - I was so scared for the doggy. Surgeon explained everything to me and when leaving my dog there I had no doubt she was in a good hands. Within few hours nightmare was over, he called me with updates couple of times. Sure it is expensive, but you can wait home for results with a calm hart that the dog has the best care - there is no price for that. Especially if your dog needs a surgery you need a place with a proper equipment to keep him safe.

Well, they just saved my dog by removing his cancerous spleen.

The vets and the surgeons studied the case together before the operation, explained to me the facts and what was advised to be done. They were very careful and did not take unnecessary risks.

The night after of his surgery, I received a video of my dog who just woke up and an arm petting him. It was really welcome at this kind of difficult time.

The team is very affectionate with him. And I think my dog trusts them, which is not usually the case with other vets.

They have an in-house blood lab that gets results very quickly. The team members are very professional and take their jobs very seriously, with a lot of love and consideration.

They deserve 6 stars out of 5.

My cat was bitten by another cat, and first when I noticed the wound it was Sunday and Easter holiday , thankfully they are open all time and i took my cat directly to them , i was choked how they treated her so nicely and professionally even though my cat is aggressive but in their hands she was really calm .
They checked on her situation ( did not clean the wound ) but with the medication they prescribed she is recovering now Thanks to their help.

All you need to save your pets

Een paar maanden geleden ben ik met een van onze 7 labradors in Barendrecht terecht gekomen. Ze wilde niet eten en had buikpijn en bij hen kon ik direct een echo laten doen. Daarop bleek dat ze een ontstoken maagwand had en hebben ze haar opgenomen. Gelukkig maar want de dag erna legde lef haar hele maag darm systeem plat en liep ze tegen een maagkanteling aan. Elke ochtend werd ik gebeld met een update. Alles wat ze deden werd besproken en ook van de kosten houden ze je goed op de hoogte. Elke dag een fotootje van Lef en uiteindelijk is ze na 3 dagen weer thuis gekomen waarop het personeel nog dagen later regelmatig informeerde naar Lef en zelfs de arts nog een week later belde. Super fijne en kundige kliniek!!

Onwijs lief personeel mijn kat beauty is daar ook echt ontzettend loef verzorgt elke dag een belletje en een foto.
Ze was buiten der voorpoot verloren en nu gaat het elke dag een stukje beter. Ze is onwijs mooi gehecht en van de wond zie je bijna niks onwijs bedankt namens beauty de kids en natuurlijk mij.

Ons lief maltezer vriendje Bliqsum is 3 jaar oud en hij kreeg allemaal schilfers op zijn oren en de rest van zijn lijf. Hij at weinig tot niets en viel in een week tijd ongeveer een kilo af. Hij werd lusteloos, had weinig energie en sliep alleen nog maar. We zijn door de Dierenkliniek Ridderkerk (Middenbaan) na een aantal onderzoeken, waar niks bijzonders uit kwam, doorgestuurd naar het Evidensia Dierenziekenhuis Barendrecht. Zowel bij de echografie, dermatologie en oncologie zijn Bliqsum en wij ontzettend lief, geduldig en kundig geholpen. Dit geldt ook voor de Dierenkliniek Ridderkerk.

Zij zijn tot het uiterste gegaan om erachter te komen wat er met ons vriendje Bliqsum aan de hand was! Zo zijn ze er achter gekomen dat hij allergisch is voor zijn normale voedsel.

Het gaat nu weer veel beter met hem sinds hij ander voer heeft gekregen!

We willen het team van het Evidensia Ziekenhuis ontzettend bedanken voor de goede en professionele zorg! En voor iedereen die nog een dierenziekenhuis zoekt die een hart heeft voor uw dier, stap dan zeker bij Evidensia binnen!

Mijn kater Fox had beide voorpoten gebroken; hoe dat gebeurd is, weet ik niet. Via de dierenarts werden we doorverwezen naar Evidensia Barendrecht, waar Fox geopereerd werd. Vandaag de laatste foto's en controle. Gelukkig is het allemaal goedgekomen. Wat me vooral is opgevallen, is de liefde voor de dieren en de tijd en aandacht die zowel de orthopeden als de andere medewerkers hebben voor de patiënten, maar ook voor de baasjes! Natuurlijk, het was een rib uit mijn lijf, maar de vriendelijkheid en betrokkenheid waren TOP! Heel erg bedankt voor de goede zorgen!

onze leonberger 9 en half jaar , ernstige stemband verlamming, we hadden vanmorgen intake en onze hond is gelijk geopereerd een uur later ,we zijn Joachim Proot zo dankbaar ,hij legde ons alles perfect uit ,en nam ook gewoon echt de tijd voor je ,personeel is ook geweldig ,vanaf nu alleen nog dit ziekenhuis

Mijn hondje Sienna werd in een zeer kort tijdsbestek zeer ernstig ziek. Wij konden direct bij Evidensia terecht. Sienna werd nagekeken. Na het eerste onderzoek en bloed onderzoek mocht ze met medicatie weer naar huis. Later ging ze echter hard achteruit en werd ze ook direct opgenomen bij Evidensia. Zij hebben alles uit de kast getrokken om mijn hondje te redden wat gelukkig ook is gelukt. Er is niets snel snel gedaan ondanks dat het mega druk was.
Na 4 dagen mochten wij haar 10 minuten zien. Ze was nog heel erg ziek op dat moment. Echter vanaf diezelfde avond begonnen de medicijnen het werk te doen en knapte ze op. 2 dagen later mocht ze naar huis om thuis verder te herstellen.

Wat de zorg betreft. Dit is gewoon erg goed. De communicatie bijzonder. Elke ochtend kregen we een telefoontje van de arts met een update en de kans om vragen te stellen. Dit is niet 1 keer afgeraffeld. Er werd ruim de tijd genomen. Elke dag kreeg ik een foto via whatsapp gestuurd. Dat was zo fijn om die te krijgen.
Bij het ontslag kreeg ik een zeer duidelijke en uitgebreide toelichting mbt het toedienen van de medicatie. Tegen de nacht ging er iets mis met de sonde. Gelijk gebeld en gelijk ook geholpen.

Nadat Sienna een paar dagen thuis was kreeg in onverwacht een telefoontje van de arts met de vraag hoe het gaat met haar en of ze goed hersteld. Wederom werd hier ruim de tijd genomen.

Na overleg hebben we besloten om over een maandje, als ze weer fit is, de gal te verwijderen om dit of erger in de toekomst te voorkomen. Ik aarzel er geen seconde over om dat hier te laten doen. Elke arts en verzorg(st)er die wij hebben gesproken zijn bijzonder lieve, zorgzame en betrokken mensen.

Sienna kan nu lekker thuis verder herstellen dankzij de goede zorg van alle mensen bij Evidensia

Onze kat André is onlangs van het dak gegleden en brak zijn been op twee plekken. Dierenartsen Nele en Willemijn hebben er voor gezorgd dat hij weer op zijn pootjes terecht is gekomen. We hebben geen moment getwijfeld aan de kunde van de artsen of de liefde voor hun vak en de dieren. Ze straalden vertrouwen uit en hebben ons uitstekend meegenomen in het proces naar herstel. André werd elk bezoek op zijn gemak gesteld en met veel aandacht en liefde behandeld. Wij zijn ontzettend dankbaar en blij met deze plek en deze artsen. Nogmaals bedankt Willemijn, Nele en alle assistentes.

Prima ervaring! Onze boxer is 2x geopereerd en dat is vakkundig, geduldig en met alle aandacht gedaan door alle medewerkers. Fijne plaats om je huisdier te laten behandelen.
