The Sint Servaasbrug in Maastricht is an iconic symbol of the city's rich history and architectural beauty. Walking across the Sint Servaasbrug is like taking a journey through time, as visitors are transported back to medieval Europe. Along the bridge, visitors can admire the intricate stonework, decorative sculptures, and historical plaques that adorn its walls, each telling a story of the bridge's past.

This bridge, dating back to the 13th century, holds a piece of history. It crosses the Maas River, and it's really old and beautiful. We walked on it and saw the river and the city. It was a sunny day, and the view was fantastic. The bridge has a special charm with its historic stone arches. It's a must-visit when you're in Maastricht.

This is mostly Netherland’s oldest stone bridge. Though half portion was broken due to a disaster, but later on it was connected. Now it’s a charming foot bridge in Maastricht,Netherland. To get full view if this bridge please go to the nearest two bridges situated both side of it. This is a must watch place in Maastricht. You can know long history about this city and this bridge. Picture perfect place. Also there are lots of places to seat beside the river, from where you can watch this one clearly.
Highly recommended 👍

The best time to visit the bridge or Maastricht in fact is early morning or in the evening when the sun is at the right angle.

This is the city my friend studied in 2017. And he told me that I must come to this bridge and took pics and sent them to him. I could feel how he loves this city.

The old passage between the sides of the city. you can climb it via a steel stairs and then enjoy the view of the river, the floating and passing boats and the restaurants on both sides.

A beautiful bridge. It looked different in the morning and at night. It was romantic sitting on the river bank. Nice spot for taking pictures too. I had a great time here. It’s way better than in the picture.

I love watching this bridge at night. Beautiful view. It is so old, that it saw many happenings in life. One of which was its bombing during the WWII. You may see the newer part as a proof.
This is the bridge that every tourist crosses when walking from the station direction centre Maastricht.

The Romans built a wooden bridge across the Meuse in what is now Maastricht, in approximately AD 50, and the Latin phrase for "crossing of the Meuse", "mosae trajectum", became the name of the city. For many years this remained the only crossing of the lower Meuse. However, the Roman bridge collapsed in the year 1275 from the weight of a large procession, killing 400 people. Its replacement, the present bridge, was built somewhat to the north of the older crossing between 1280 and 1298.
The Roman Catholic Church encouraged its construction by providing indulgences to people who helped build it. The bridge was accoladed in honor of Saint Servatius around this time.
The bridge was renovated in 1680, and in 1825 a wooden strutwork section on the east side of the bridge was replaced by a stone arch. In 1850, as part of the construction of the Maastricht-Liège Canal, a channel was cut on the west side of the bridge.
When in the early 1930s the bridge had been relieved of its function as the city's only river crossing by the construction of the Wilhelmina bridge, 300 metres (1,000 ft) downstream, a major renovation was performed.

The beautiful and ancient foot bridge in Maastricht. Only pedestrians and cyclists can cross the bridge now. It's one of the oldest bridges in Netherlands if not the oldest. Nice photo spot for sure.

Magical Maastricht is truly a recommendation. Christmas market was amazing. Parking was quiet harder if you come late. So make sure that you will be there Early.

Ancient bridge connecting both side of Maastricht. Seemingly ever since the Roman days, it was possible to cross the river here.
Maastricht being one of the oldest cities in the Netherlands makes it credible.
Of course bridge has seen some upgrades since then.
Still a charming walk into city center.

Very old bridge well known for all UE citizens. Try to get the view of it from the bank of the river or the other pedestrian bridge nearby.

Out of the world picture. So beautiful and awe inspiring. Perfect blue skies, wide, deep river with ships enhancing the scenery. The cold breeze coming from over the river making one wrap the jacket around the body and the slight drizzle making one put on the hoodie are once in a lifetime experience for foreigners like us.
