Gorgeous old church with marvelous architecture that has repurposed to be museum;
to fully appreciate what this place have, I suggest you follow trail in flyer that you can pick in entrance;
It have enormous musical instruments with steel pipes, historic painting of heaven and hell in the ceiling, many gravestones, carving, small clock in the center of the church, educational interactive screens that explain the history of this church, clean toilet, merchandise and coffee shop.
It located close to the cheese market and short walking distance from station.
Last time I visit the entrance fee is free.
Definitely a must visit when in Alkmaar.

Lovely church. The current display (thru 7 July 2019?) is fabulous! It describes & details the history of the church through the use of interactive screens. An added bonus is photos of locally well-known photographer depicting 7 signs of mercy.

We've visited during Wonderlicht Alkmaar. Beautiful church with outstanding architectural elements. The historical organs add a "soul" to the place. Staff is very friendly (they have a small bar and souvenir shop there). Recommended to visit :D

Huge indoor space, beautiful woodwork especially in the ceiling. A climb up into the galleries is possible for the nimble. Helpful guides tell the story of the building.

A beautiful old church that has been repurposed to be a venue. You can now host events and concerts in here, even have a drink. Very fun place to check out.

No longer a religious building, but worthwhile to visit because of its history. Especially the 500 year old organ which is still in use.

A beautiful church in this typical Dutch town of Rotterdam. Marvellous architecture and has the biggest organ in Holland. Musical performances are given regularly around the year. A great experience for history, art and music lovers. An example of culture in the city.

Visited when the staircase and viewing platforms were still in place, which gave an unique view of both the city and the interior. Also got a nice demonstration of the bells, as a professional player was on the keys and was taking requests.

Very nice. You can go up to the roof and the tower by stairs ( for a fee) to get some amazing views.

Peaceful and brightness church. People are friendly to help. Good local beer. Architect are really amezing!

Free attraction. The had a photographic exhibition featuring the people of the asylum seekers centre of Alkmaar

I like how there is a cafe and toilet in the church and that they played organ music. Really really nice inside.
