I was surprised by the size and quality of the collection. I also like the simple layout (two floors, walk clockwise). I got to see two Rembrandt's here that I have been on my list for a long time. They don't have dedicated players for use so you have to get their app and listen to the narration through your phone.

Beautiful museum full of amazing paintings. It was great to see the original of the girl with the pearl earring. Although it is a bit smaller than I thought it was not disappointing at all. Other than Wermeer, you can also see some Rembrandt paintings as well as other masterpieces. Highly recommended.
It is also worth mentioning that the museum is free of charge for museum card holders.

The paintings on display here are absolutely incredible. They only have the best of the best. This might also have something to do with the actual museum not being very big and them having to consider every inch of space. The result is a very packed experience, but also quite crowded rooms.

They state you Have to book tickets online, which is more convenient probably, but we didn't and still got in.

Another wonderful museum set in an old city palace built 1644 and became a museum in 1822. Housing art from the "golden age" , the surrounding area is worth a visit in itself.

Beautiful, but hedge your expectations for a small venue. It's delightfully curated with a sampling of the best Dutch artists. You simply can't go wrong with a cup of coffee followed by a morning stroll through this place.

What a beautiful building, which perfectly complements the hundreds of old master paintings within.
There is a helpful phone app that will give you guided tours and explain the highlights of the collection.
Entry price is standard for a world glass gallery.
The gift shop contains an array of items featuring the famous works in the collection.

You go into the courtyard of the museum then go down some stairs to get to the entrance of the museum. From here they have locker and coat services as well as ticket puchases. We reserved a time on a Monday and this museum is able to visit via the museum card. There are 2 floors to the museum so it is not too crazy to walk around. It doesn't take too long which was kind of nice. We powered through it because we came late so it only took us an hour but it would have been nice to check out the audioguide. Nice to see the famous Vermeer Grl With A Pearl Earring painting. Overall nice museum!

Had a good time at the Mauritshuis. The building is fantastic looking both from the outside and inside and the location of the building is also a great spot. Have to say that it is quite small and you could probably go through the whole museum in about an hour and a half. The main attraction is probably going to be the girl with the pearl painting but other then that it doesn’t have that many well known paintings, beside some Rembrandts. I guess that makes it a good visit though if you want to learn about new artists. All in all had a good time. Got the say it was quite crowded and loud so don’t except to have a quiet time there.

We visited this museum on a Sunday morning. We were the first visitors, it started becoming very crowded later on.
Why I recommend this museum:
1) The building
İt is a beautifully restored ancient 3 stories stone house. Pay attention to the exceptional wooden staircases.
2) Paintings by Johannes Vermeer, of which Girl with a Pearl Earring is the most famous.
3) Works by Rembrandt.
There is also a decent museum shop.
Enjoy

A must visit for every tourist visiting Den Hague.

Excellent collection of paintings.

Houses the famous "Girl with a Pearl Earring" painting, a master puece by Johannes Vermeer.

Other paintings of Vermeer are also on display.

Also houses a self portrait of Rembrandt.

Many still life paintings are a treat to the eye.

Many exhibits displayed portrays daily life style of common people, thus providing a glimpse of their daily chores, like milking cows, making cheese, doctors visits, kitchen scenes, dinning etc.

Houses many excellent painting of great European artists. A must visit for every Art connoisseur.

Exhibition is spread over two floors. It also houses a souvenir shop and a cafe.

The Mauritshuis is a fairly small museum that you could get through in an hour if you’re in a hurry. It did take us a little over two hours to read the descriptions and to admire the works of art. The Girl with Pearl Earrings by Johannes Vermeer can be found here along with many other well known works by Dutch artists. Buying tickets worked out well for us as there was a fairly long line of people waiting to purchase tickets even on a weekday so I would recommend doing so.

Visited the Mauritshuis with my family and young children and it was an absolute delight. The museum's art collection captivated us all, with its rich array of Dutch masters and Flemish art from the 17th century.

The masterpieces, including the world-famous "Girl with a Pearl Earring" by Vermeer, were not only a treat for the adults but also engaging for the children who were free.

The museum's size was perfect for a family visit; it was neither too big nor too busy, allowing us to move easily from room to room without feeling overwhelmed. The building itself is a work of art, with sparkling chandeliers and colorful ceiling paintings that add to the charm and make the experience feel like an adventure

Very crowded by 14:45, next time book for the morning not the night before. An oasis in the city centre. Beautiful collection.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Mauritshuis. The size of the museum really appealed to me. Unlike other prestigious museums, you didn't feel overwhelmed by the amount of art on display (e.g. Rijksmuseum Amsterdam). At no point did I feel harassed by other visitors and I had plenty of time to take a closer look at each work of art from different angles. I can only warmly recommend the museum to everyone.

I also recommend a visit to the well-stocked museum shop.

Yes, there she is. “The Girl with the Pearl Earring painted by Johannes Vermeer. This beautiful place holds so many famous paintings that you have only seen in books; you will be overwhelmed by the beauty that unfolds around every corner. I don’t want to spoil the experience for you by writing too more here, just go and be happy that you saw the impressive collection in person.
The building is stunning too and it was once a home. This is a must see. Book online for tickets and choose your entry time too. I just know that the collection will far exceed your expectations, all seen in this grand home. Enjoy every moment.

Wonderful museum with loads of famous paintings. Gets a bit busy at the girl with the pearl earring, but otherwise there is enough space. Staff is friendly.
Free lockers (50ct to close the lockers, which you get back) and free wardrobe. Nice souvenirshop. Bathrooms were clean.

I complimented a nice lady about her beautiful name, Saskia. She smiled and told me it was the same as Rembrandt's wife. I said, a very famous name, too! So, it was befitting to go The Hague to check out Rembrandt and admire other famous masterpieces. 🌍🇳🇱❤

The museum was initially built as a house for John Maurice, a cousin of stadholder Frederick Henry. Hence the name. The museum is not too big, but the collection is excellent, with paintings of Hals, Rembrandt and Vermeer on display, among others. All is presented in richly decorated interiors of palatial house (sadly, money were made at least partially by slave trade). The most famous painting here is, of course, "Girl with a Pearl Earring", located on the second floor, an icon of Dutch art, glorified in the movie of the same name.

Definitely a must see museum while you are in Den Haag, I spent about four hours here. Make sure to take your own headphones so you can scan the QR code and listen to the audio descriptions. Makes it a much more immersive experience. The building's architecture is a marvel in its own right. And of course with so many Dutch Golden Age paintings and artists you've got to take it all in.

Spent an hour in the museum which was great stop along my route. There are many great paintings and you can easily take more time to read and listen about each one. As my visit was at weekday afternoon there was no big crowds at the entrance.
