On a recent visit back to Holland, I had the pleasure of doing some shopping in the beautiful village of Wassenaar. The Skindoctor is a lovely shop located at the far end of the shopping street, Langstraat. It sells skin care products but also luxury boutique items suitable for gift giving. Nothing in the shop is priced. In my opinion, having to ask a sales assistant for the price of every single item is inconvenient and not customer friendly. I did purchase a lovely gift set of Marie Stella Maris Amsterdam and the sales associate was very helpful. Over the course of the past 10 years, I have seen countless boutiques and gift shops come and go. If a shop is more concerned with their own ease of identifying a price with a barcode then they are with the ease of a customer identifying a price it is just one indication of where their own priorities lie.
