Het herdenkingsmonument voor Juup Geraedts is opgericht ter herinnering aan Juup Geraedts die op 5 april 1946 gesneuveld is in voormalig Nederlands-Indië.
Juup Geraedts nam dienst in het leger na de bevrijding van Zuid-Limburg. Hij was verheugd dat hij het zware werk in de mijnen kon ontvluchten. Na eerst bewakingstaken in het Duitsland te hebben gedaan, werd gevraagd wie er tegen Japan wilde vechten. Juup meldde zich aan.
Bij het monument worden nu alle slachtoffers uit de gemeente die in voormalig Nederland-Indië zijn gesneuveld herdacht.
