Nice museum to visit and learn about Vermeer paintings and techniques. There is an audio guide available included with the tickets, which makes the visit more enjoyable. There are no original paintings displayed but all the copies are in excellent quality. The -1 floor is about Veermer's history, the 1st floor is about Veermer's paintings and the 2nd floor exhibit photos and clothes with Vermeer paintings themes. On the ground floor there is a gift shop with good products and reasonable prices.

Very interesting Museum (€9 student) :-)
While the paintings displayed are not original (it would be impossible as they are spread around the world and worth a pretty penny), they are faithful reproductions in size and light.
The audioguide then provides all the necessary details to understand more about Vermeer and his technique.
Different floors have different themes: from the history and paintings, to the secret messages and meanings and then the modern day variations or restoration precess.
So at the end I would definitely recommend this museum :-)

Highly recommend to visit. You will understand Vermeer better. Delft is a hometown of the artist. And in the museum you will find not his original artworks but all the explanations of his paintings.

We really liked this museum- the introduction movie alternated to English, and the audio guide is available. We arrived around 10:15 and the museum was crowded (there was also a tour group there), depending on the day, 11:30 or later might be a better time to visit.

Locate near a beautiful canal in the Delft center, it was established in 2007 with the purpose of celebrating the life and works of the greatest Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer. The museum provides a unique experience about Vermeer’s most famous paintings, as well as interactive exhibits that offers insights into his artistic techniques and historical context in which he lived. The center also offers guided tour, workshops and educational programs for visitors in all ages. This is a must-visit for art enthusiasts and those interested in the rich cultural heritage of the NL.

Very glad to have had this experience learning all about one of my favorite painters. Seeing images of all the paintings in sequence with explanations was very useful. A special exhibit about how a restoration was done was fascinating.

Interesting Vermeer museum with replicas of his known paintings. Also a small display of pigments, brushes and diagrams to help you understand his (and other of his contemporaries) painting techniques. We also found some good souvenirs at the museum shop and the ladies who work there are friendly and helpful.

Enlightening to see Vermeer’s creative process with their exhibits on the upper floors about light and the paints he used. Also fun to see how other artists copied his “Girl with the Pearl”.

Must visit if you are in Delft. 12 eur and you get a free audioguide. Small place but after going through the entire journey here, you get to know more about Vermeer before you visit the Vermeer exhibition in Amsterdam!

Vermeer Centre is actually an information center acting as a museum and it is dedicated to the painter Johannes Vermeer. This place is not a museum, since it does not contain any original paintings. There are replicas or photos of original paintings, however, the exhibition provides insights on Vermeer's life and his working methods. You could enjoy audio tour available in several languages. There is a gift store at the ground floor. Building is children friendly, free of charge, highly recommended.

Vermeer is undoubtedly one of the greatest painters the world has ever known. The Vermeer Centre in Delft is not a museum in the strictest definition of the word. This institute chronicles his work and it is done in the most fascinating and systematic way. Whether or not you are a Vermeer fan it is absolutely recommended to visit and learn about his great work

Audio guide (available in many languages: Spanish, English, Dutch, German, Italian, etc.) included in normal ticket price - which is a refreshing considering the crude capitalist nature of most attractions in Delft designed to extort as much money as possible from tourists for the most mundane things. The ‘museum”, which starts on the -1 floor (which was weird) and works its way up to the second floor, is interesting - even though it doesn’t qualify as a museum due to the absence of paintings (instead shown as prints), which it does not claim to have so it doesn’t detract anything from this place. Lots of interesting information about Vermeer and his paintings from which you learn that his main motif was that he believe in getting women drunk in order to make them fall in love with you. Highly Recommend to visit if in Delft.

There are no original artworks at Vermeer house museum but they have collected very good information and displayed it smartly. Everything is related to Vermeer. It is not commercial and shallow, it is very tastefully organized.

I was genuinely surprised at how very much I enjoyed my visit! I recommended this centre to a friend who said "But it's all reproductions". Well - that really doesn't matter! The displays are excellent and you leave with a real feel of Vermeer's art and life in Delft. If you're there on a Sunday, I would highly recommend the free guided tour - our guide was knowledgeable and patient and she started outside, orientating us around some key sites in Vermeer's life. I would love to go back. Please note, the centre doesn't have a cafe but there are lots of alternatives locally, including at the site of Vermeer's birth a few doors down the Voldersgracht!

With the Rijksmuseum sold out, this choice is a no-brainer. I think that the overview presented here of all of Vermeer's paintings (reproductions) gives you a unique oeuvre total. On top, the second floor provides painting techniques, and the third is the concepts used and the included symbolism. That context is missing in Amsterdam. So good show and well done! Go and visit.

I recommend the place for Vermeer lovers! this place exceeded my expectations!Copies of all his works are arranged in chronological order. One of the most important things in his art is the light. There is a very good demonstration of the use of light in his art!
