This store offers books in a retail manner as well as a thrifting/second-hand. I absolutely love snooping through the second-hand areas since you can find some absolute gems there.

The employees are incredibly friendly, approachable and helpful. Whenever you can't find a book, they'll gladly search with you and if the book is not available in store, they offer to order it for you.

The atmosphere in the store is great. It's a beautiful building. The second-hand part of the store looks like a classical library and the retail part is more modern.

Selling second-hand books is also a possibility here. You can even send them photos/an email with all your books and they'll let you know which ones they will and won't take.

They do offer English books however, seeing a bigger variety of English titles wouldn't hurt.

One of my favorite bookstores. There are many options, they change up books, the employees are always very friendly and helpful and there is a section with second-hand books.

In the pittoresque centre of leeuwarden is the large Vandervelde bookshop with a big collection of books in dutch but also english. At the back of the shop is a coffee bar where you can discuss, or glance through newest books. I enjoyed the shop bery much and spend hours through their book collection. If you want to take the sight seeing boats through the leeuwarden canals you can buy the tickets at the book shop. Highly recommended!

The only proper bookstore in Leeuwarden, it's quite big, featuring both new and 2nd hand books, you can enjoy coffee and tea in the garden... it's great!

Huge selection of both new and used books. Partly in a historic building that is worth a visit in itself. Also extensive selection of English language books. Cafe in a quiet backyard.

A wonderful independent book store with a great selection of books. A relaxing environment with a cozy corner cafe and a very friendly Abyssinian cat on staff.

The staff is super good, the have a large range of books, also in English. A large second hands book part, which is also wonderful.
