Puur Terschelling

Definitely the highlight of my trip to the Netherlands. The horses are well taken care of. The trail is spectacular. We went through different terrains - through the dunes, the beach, the forrest, each beautiful in its own right. We would like to thank our guide, Lotte, in particular. Our group consisted of a little girl and my friend who has no experience with horses. Lotte made sure everyone was safe in a relaxed way. My friend who had no experience with horses picked up horse riding very easily with Lotte's guidance, and we were even allowed to try trotting. Lotte's passion for horses is infectious! We were served warm drinks around the fireplace after our ride in the rain.

I did a weekend riding experience with Puur through the unicorn trails website and the whole experience was just amazing. The island is a magical place that was really nice to explore when I wasn't riding. The riding itself was great, the horses were beautiful and well taken care of. I am an experienced rider but a bit more nervous in my 40s than when I was young and I was happy that all of the horses I rode were lovely, they were well behaved and incredibly steady (without being boring). Puur was well organized, and although I do agree with other reviews that there isn't really an opportunity to hang out there or spend time with the horses other than showing up for your ride, I wasn't expecting anything else so I was happy with that. The scenery was breathtaking, especially running on the beach and getting to take the horses into the water. Super great experience all around, would definitely recommend. My biggest complaint is not being able to stay longer!

Puur Terschelling is my go-to destination for outside riding, already for 8 years in a row, and I hope, for many years more! It is exciting to see how the business advances and flourishes, while carefully listening to its customers, and maintaining their happy herd of lovely Friesian horses! Nature- and ecology-savvy, caring and responsible family-owned farm, that should not be missed if you are on Terschelling. They offer outside rides of different duration, scenery, and complexity. Even if you are a complete beginner, you can trust reliable Friesians and have an awesome horseback riding getaway! Highly recommended!

Enjoyed both the horse and the carriage rides. Great and personal service. They bent over backwards to make our visit fantastic. I you have never ridden a Firesand horse, you are in for a treat. The 2 hour ride included dunes and seashore, all with great views.

Great trip, route and guide on horse wagon. Very well organized with ferry and bus tickets. After the wagon ride, we went to the shipwreck museum (Wrakkenmuseum) and all the stories that the guide told us about shipwrecked containers with bananas, shoes, etc were all there. Hearing stories and then seeing them in person was very interesting.

I had an amazing time riding the Friesian horses on Terschelling. Staff are all very friendly and it is nice that they let you brush your horse and help to tack up. Riding on the beach and through the dunes is so relaxing and the horses are lovely. I loved every minute of it. Thanks a million. I hope to be back one day!

I had a great horseback riding experience! Jessica is a friendly and professional teacher. The whole farm looks nice and seems to be well organized. They even have a chimney room to relax and get warm after the riding session.

A puur getaway experience!
Stayed at their dune tents and it was beautiful and cozy, it has everything you need for a stay. The country feel of the island is truly refreshing and definitely a must see experience!

A place worth visiting on Terschelling.
They offer rides for people ranging from "never been on a horse" to experienced and professional riders. Prices are not too expensive for the duration of the trips and the gear you get. Staff is also really nice and helpfull and they do know a lot about the island and its history.

Great place to visit and I would definitly go again!

Jochem was very helpful already in the inquiry calls with his hospitality and suggestions. My parents are horsback-riding beginners and usually very hard to deal with but they were very well-accommodated and satisfied! Haha! Our tour guide made our day with her excellent tour-guiding and friendly company throughout the experience! Great landscape and views, perfect tours - Simply Wonderful!
Plus you really get to build up a friendly relationship with the lovely horses!!!

I love it here! Beautiful, sweet and happy horses, friendly and relaxed staff and overall atmosphere. I went on a couple of rides and loved every minute! I'll definitely be back :) Highly recommend this place.

Wonderful time! My daughter got to sit in front with the driver of the horse carriage. Very interesting conversations with the guide. The highlight of our trip!

Good value for money and comfort

Wat een geweldige ervaring! Eerst met z’n allen wadlopen. Wat een bijzondere ervaring terwijl het begon te schemeren. Veel gehoord en geleerd over het Wad en alles wat er leeft. De oesters en vuurtje maakten het helemaal af! Wat een dag ❤
Volgende dag paardrijden op het strand. Door de geweldige begeleiding was het een ervaring om nooit te vergeten. De paarden zijn prachtig en lief. Al met al Terschelling op zijn best!
O ja, en de zeezoutboter is fenomenaal! Je wil nooit meer anders

Afgelopen week hebben we een prachtige 2 uur durende rit gemaakt door het bos, de duinen en over het strand met de Shires Stoer en Sterk en onze dochter op Claire. Wat een prachtige rit met fijne lieve paarden!
De volgende dag ook nog een rit van 3 uren gemaakt met de huifkar naar het drenkelingen huisje. Genoten van de prachtige eiland verhalen die Anne enthousiast en meeslepend kon vertellen.
Het welzijn van de paarden staat hier voorop en er is een fijne sfeer op het terrein met enthousiast, vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.
Het terrein is ook erg mooi aangekleed.
We komen graag nog eens terug!

Gisteren een prachtige rit over het strand gemaakt naar het Drenkelingenhuisje en het Amelandergat met de 4 x 4 landrover.
We werden gastvrij ontvangen op het terrein door vriendelijk personeel. De sfeer was ontspannen en gezellig. Onze chauffeur en gids Bentum was erg enthousiast en wist veel te vertellen over het eiland. We werden verrast in het Drenkelingenhuisje met wat warms en lekkers.

Een echte aanrader als je op Terschelling bent!
