Honestly, this was one of the best dinners i‘ve ever had. A real food experience and the staff is absolutely amazing. A special thank to Asmaar and Thijs, both did such a great job, it couldn’t be better. So, i just found my most favorite restaurant in Amersfoort.

Everything, from the starters to the deserts, is top notch. And the team is amazingly friendly and chatty. Very much enjoyed the dishes and our time here. Goes on the "must-visit-again" list.

Visited without a reservation, we were seated promptly and received brilliant service throughout. Staff were lovely and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.

Great place, hidden gem! Excellent service, when I told the waiter my partner spoke English he immediately switched to his very best English the entire night! Locally sourced produce and delicious, quality dishes. Ordered a bottle of prosecco, was put neatly in a cooler on the table. The s'mores dessert was our favorite, so good! We'll be back soon.

Wonderful experience at Hete Kolen. The staff were very accomodating to my limited Dutch and spoke in English. Thijs the waiter was very kind and attentive and he explained the restaurant’s process in detail. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The food was delicious and the meat was beautifully tender! I received a free appetiser which was delicious! You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the dishes are cooked with care. I went with the Duck & Beef starter and the Porchetta main. Incredibly tasty! Very professional and friendly service I recommend to anyone in Amersfoort!

Came here on a local recommendation and was not let down! Staff are very accommodating and friendly, making the effort to speak English in light of our limited Dutch. Food was delicious - we ordered the Mixed Grill which was plenty of food for 2 and meant we got to try everything! They also brought a complimentary starter of bread and pork belly taster which was a nice touch. A little bit on the expensive side (mixed grill was 40€pp) but well worth it for the experience. Thanks!

There is a lot of things I can't eat. And they where very good at asking about everything, and made sure it was completely safe for me to eat.
They even had strawberry sorbet with chocolate bits 🥰

Superb, food excellent, wait staff attentive but not over bearing, nice selection of beverages, great selection of wines by the glass. My partner and I shared a T-bone steak of which the rib eye was rare and melted in your mouth, the loin was medium rare and excellent: juicy, tender and perfectly seasoned. 100% will visit again.

Very nice place. Friendly staff, excellent service, cozy atmosphere, excellent presentation of food. Everything we ordered was very tasty.

Without a plan, we ended up here this evening and were able to get a table without a booking. The staff are super attentive and friendly and we had an amazing beef wellington. We started with a little taster from the chef which was also very tasty. Left feeling very full and satisfied 😁 also lekker wine

Lovely restaurant with a view to the old tower. Very good food (mainly meat options), excellent desserts, and unusually good service! Highly recommend it

Don’t miss it..

A restaurant with a small menu, but which makes everything in house. When visited also served a blond beer specially brewed only for the restaurant. Food was fantastic and felt luxurious. Certainly worth visiting.

Everything is homemade (they have their own home made "ketchup" and all different sauces, even the peppermints after eating are home made!

Service is a bit slow, even though, they are really good and kind. The menu options are only a few, but that's compensated with the great quality of the dishes they prepare with lots of attention!

I would not recommend this place but only for one reason - otherwise everybody will go there 😁. It is such a cool place!

Me and my husband were nicely surprised by the quality of service and the food.
Such a jewel in our city and we even didn’t know about it!

Also I would like to mention our waiter Hessel - he gave excellent service and honest suggestions about food, we felt at home.
We took: Mixed grill dish (very juicy and tasty combination of meat and vegetables, very big portion for 2 people we even cannot finish it all); rosé wine 2 glasses, coffee and one desert Chocolate overload (one for two was more than enough).

Hope many restaurants will have this quality of food and service soon.
Definitely will recommend to visit place.

Went here for dinner before. We hyped up one of our friends for the food here. Went back, ordered the mixed grill and his response was "Alright, you guys were right. It is really good".

Staff was nice, prices are according to the quality.

Very delicious food and amazing staff, great for bbq lovers, and good times. Took my wife there for a dinner and she wanted to go back for lunch, so worth adding to your short list of restaurants to always eat at in Amersfoort! Hope they grow there size (into next door empty space) and keep the quality going! Definately for a night out or a special date.

Great atmosphere, excellent food and incredible service! No wonder it's always fully booked. It is totally worth the visit!
