Restaurant IDD

What a beautiful atmosphere, with kind staff members and great service. I sat at their newly built bar (on my own) and it felt very comfortable, beautifully decorated as well! The waiter was very attentive, suggested a delicious white wine that went beautifully with my mackerel, jalapeño and ponzu dish. It’s really nice that a high-end restaurant can also tailor to those who just want a drink(s) and a small bite(s) to eat/taste if you don’t have time for the whole menu/wine arrangement.

Very nice location. Incredible awesome dinner. We had a menu and here everything was great. Every single course was like a poem.
Thank you so much to the whole restaurant team! I loved it and enjoyed every moment. I will come back!

I cannot describe the food in words. You should definitely try it. Each one was a different experience.

We went at lunch time it was less full but great food some of the best in the Neighborhood.

The Michelin Man guided us to this 7 course fixed menu culinary adventure! Food was sublime. Staff amazing, professional, and smiling all the time. You can tell they are all really enjoying the work and passionate about their careers. Great wine list, Interior comfortable and warm. When in Leiden NL and want a really good meal, check them out! Guaranteed joy! Price matches the service.

ABSOLUTELY a hidden gem in Leiden. The service: top notch. The waiters and waitresses know what they’re serving. The presentation is exciting as you wait for the flavor bomb and oh my word!

I loved that the chef comes out later to check food was ok and answers questions even 👌🏾

Update 26/8/22.. I ate here again yesterday with friends and I'm happy to say it lived up to the hype i'd given it.
Literally mindblowing food, backed up by friendly (and funny) passionate professionals. Up there with the very best 👌🏽

I expected a stilted, stiff place based on the website. How wrong I was. My experience is totally the opposite! Very friendly waiters, lot of laughing, no formal attire, excellent food.

A treat for eye and tongue

A funny story....after a stroll in Leiden we were actually limited in time and just wanted a quick bite to eat. The son wanted pizza, the wife wanted pasta. I didn't care. Unfortunately, instead of going through the left door (pizza/pasta), we went through the right door and found ourselves in the IDD. I was immediately impressed by the ambiance and the great service, not realizing that I'm in the wrong restaurant.
Packed with plastic bags, a dog and casual shopping clothes, we were friendly led to the table. after two amusemts i asked for the menu, still very impressed and thinking i could order a pizza right away. An irritated look from the super smart waiter then brought clarity......we were in the wrong restaurant.....in fact in the most likely best restaurant in Leiden.
Unfortunately, unfortunately we didn't have the time to enjoy the 6-course menu that was offered, but the kitchen reacted spontaneously and conjured up a very fine main course for us. Thanks a lot for this.
Both the amusement and the main course are at the upper end of the upper class in terms of taste and craftsmanship. just perfect.
The service took our "misunderstanding" with humor. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back, then with more time to be able to enjoy the IDD.

Together with Restaurant Sevens and Het Prentenkabinet, IDD represents the finest of culinary experiences in the Leiden area. The 6 course Chef's menu is excellent and worth every penny. Beautiful decor.

A lovely meal in the heart of Leiden, great wine pairings!

Why this restaurant still doesn't have a Michelin star is not understandable. Food is amazing! Just go for the chef menu and let them surprise you with amazing and original dishes. The restaurant is expensive but worth it!
