They also had gluten-free bread for the spread and I would recommend the red house wine.

Verboden Toegang is really a must-try. Everything we ate was delicious. Beautiful location and nice staff with fast service. We will definitely come again!

Fantastic dinner place with cozy atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. Great value for money - prices are more than reasonable for the high quality signature dishes you’re getting. We had a lovely evening there and definitely going again.

We were on vacation in Leiden and found this restaurant located near a small river. Great food, great dessert wine and very friendly people. Even though it looks small, the food offering has high artistic value.

Unique room design ideas such as: police mannequin watching us from the corner, funny prohibition signs, etc. The waiter will always come to you and ask if we need anything else.. all served quickly even though the restaurant was busy at the time.

Was wonder to have such an incredible young lady serving us, we from SA and we loved the food,the vibe is amazing, it's cozy.its very original and authentic place. 10/10

Amazing food, was nice to go somewhere with a different and more interesting menu than many others locally, I had the venison. Great service, well worth a visit . Only thing was the tables are quite close together making it a bit noisy.. but definitely recommend

We had a meal at this restaurant three days ago. We liked it so much we came back again tonight. The food is excellent and the atmosphere has a good vibe. The staff are friendly. We had a starter of snails and a main course of babette steak (flank steak) with duck liver. Chips accompanied the food. Delicious!! We live in Hong Kong where food in restaurants is very good, and this food ranks with the best in Hong Kong.

The greatest restaurant in Leiden, both as for the environment (the setting, the kindness of all the staff) and for the food. Big portion for an incredibly honest price. The food is tasty and delicious.

Great food at very reasonable price, in a fun themed setting. We had 'The Wrong Choys', which was a great choice, and the 'Piggy Bank'. Both delicious. Dessert was good, although only the brulee stood out as superb.

This place is great. The food is always good and the staff is always friendly. Besides that, everything on the menu is a pun which automatically scores you points with me. Lastly and most importantly; they have a cheesecake as a dessert with salted caramel... get that.... I'm not kidding, that thing is amazing.
