Grand Café Central

Regular visits to Grand Café Central have consistently been great. The food, the beer, and the service are invariably exquisite.
This is a very good bar/restaurant in Gouda, situated right on the market plaza, with a brilliant view of the old City Hall.

We visited the Café for lunch and sat on terrace.
It has a great view of city hall and the super tasty food only helps you enjoy it! Servers were very friendly and had no problem switching to English, which always feels welcoming.

Enjoyed our lunch here. We had the Gouda soup, Gouda cheese on farmers bread and fried Gouda cheese. Excellent with a beer.

Incredibly delicious dishes served by a witty and forwardthinking personnel. The owner even came around servicing us. A fair wait for an artistic and well priced meal. No trouble in moving us from one table to another when it started raining. Fairly crowded but not noisy. Very nice atmosphere and cozy lighting.

Nice place with an interesting interior decor. No vegan options, although the menu has vegetarian dishes (including an avocado burger), but the staff made everything possible to arrange something for me as well (including dessert). Great place. Really glad I stopped with my friends here.

Over 100 years now one of the best places for a drink, lunch or dinner on Gouda's central market Square. Always friendly service and advice. Good food, always enough and well-priced. Nice selection of beers. The interior is worth taking a look at too, especially the art-deco paintings in the back.

Perfectly situated looking over the market square this cafe serves fantastic coffee but also the BEST apple pie on earth. Everything from the cinnamon pastry to the whipped cream was outstanding. But beware - the portion size is formidable.

Super nice and friendly waitress, nice coffee, tea selections and cozy atmosphere. 2 adults and 2 kids enjoyed our short stay there. And it's 100 years old.

Nice cafe on the main square of the town. Friendly staff and good menu. I recommend the classic Kaasstengels and Bitterballen. They have really good fresh cut fries too.

Elders, families, couples, singles, this is the place in Gouda to have proper food. Fast service, clean tables and toilets. Don’t forget to order the apple pie.

Amazingly delicious apple pie🍰, I would recommend to get one with capuccino or cherries milkshake, nice personnel too!
