Aangenaam nieuw recreatiepark uitgebaat door een zeer vriendelijk man. Heel rustig gelegen... Een beetje back to basic maar wel voorzien van voldoende comfort. Heel mooie omgeving

We had a 6 Day Vacation here with Friends (12 People). We had 2 Houses.

Pros:
- Friendly Staff who gladly helped
- Beautiful Location
- Market and Beaches are not far away with car
- We had our Privacy

Cons and critique:
- No Air conditionar or even a Fan (We had like 39°C and it gets very hot in a Wooden Hut, even one fan would have been good)
- No Protection against Mosquitos and other Insects (The Huts are right next to a lake, at least maybe a fly net in the Bedroom)
- Pool is more for kids then for Adults, we couldn't swim in it because of so many kids and the size of the Pool)

The 6 Days were pretty good, we had fun and maybe we come back! 4*

Very bad (There is no respect for some inmates and undue noise and no management at night)

About Vollenhove
City in the Netherlands

Vollenhove is a city in the Dutch province of Overijssel. It is located in the municipality of Steenwijkerland, southwest of Steenwijk. Until the Noordoostpolder was drained, it was located on the coast of the Zuiderzee. Vollenhove received city rights in 1354. Later it was the main city in this region, that was formerly called Land van Vollenhove. Vollenhove was the summer residence of the bishop of Utrecht, the ruler of these parts. He lived in the castle Toutenburg, of which only some small ruins are left now. To be near their lord, quite some nobility moved to Vollenhove. They built their estates in the town, which was unique. Therefore, Vollenhove was called the city of palaces. Like Blokzijl, peat transport to Holland by ship caused the small city to flourish during the 17th century. Vollenhove was a separate municipality until 1973, when it became a part of Brederwiede. Between 1818 and 1942, the municipality was divided into two parts, Stad Vollenhove and Ambt Vollenhove. source
