Afikpo North Headquarters

Idu-Igariwey Street [self-coined acronym; IDG Street] is one of the first travelers will drive across upon arriving Afikpo North.

Two junctions after the Afikpo North Secretariat, this newly developed residential area is an ideal place to reside in this community.

Idu-Igariwey Street is flanked by two nearby filling-stations to the left and further right [a gem since residents of Afikpo rely on fuel to run generators for power. It’s over two years since this area has been supplied electricity by the allocated company.]

Other important facilities which can be found o this street are local stores, a couple of churches; Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), a Presbyterian parish, Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel), amongst a few others.

Interestingly, just beside Living Faith Church is a newly constructed hospital. Oh, did I mention the street also has a National Youth Service Corp Members Lodge? [popularly referred to as ‘Corpers’ Lodge’]

If you’re visiting this area and just are arriving Afikpo, inform the driver to stop over at Idu-Igwriwey street (most of them can identify this). If the driver however can’t, alternatively ask to alight at Ebiri Filling Station which is off Idu-Igariwey Street (across to the right). It’s important to alight at these suggested points because most drivers make their final stops at the Park in the big market which is some kilometers after IDG street.
