Borneo rock cafe

Visited at mid-January.
An extraordinary cafe hidden at a corner of Semporna town. If you favour something other than seafood fiesta, just drop by this amazing cafe. The food is amazing and superb, while the atmosphere is simply serene and chillax. Zapiekanka is a must try, all favours are awesome.
When we were there, just nice the shop owner is in and had a nice chat with us. Apparently he is from Malacca and decided to venture into business after visiting Semporna and fell for her beauty.
P.S. A guy mistaken us for PRC tourists and made his way into the cafe to apologize. Turns out, he's a diving instructor here and shared tonnes of diving tips and stories with us. He even offered to link us up with his friends if we intend to pursue the diving certificate at West Malaysia. Superb friendly and nice guy. Seems like quite a number of divers will chill at the cafe, you can pop in and have a nice chat with them.

By far the nicest (and cleanest) cafe in Semporna. From the cosy ambience, to friendly staff and delicious waffles this is by the far the best place to eat breakfast and lunch in the area. We ate at Borneo Rock every day that we were staying in the city because (unfortunately) there is nowhere else that caters healthy fresh food like it.

If I can only eat at one place in Semporna then it will be here.
The roasted chicken sandwiches was just too good. The owners are lovely and made me feel like at home.
Sadly I haven’t got chance to try the brekkie as my flight was in the early morning:) But surely I’d like to recommend this place to everyone and will definitely can back!

They open at 6.30am daily which was great for us to have breakfast and good coffee ☕ before we started our daily activities. Sandwiches are great. Croissants looked very good, though we didn't have any.
We had mango and banana milkshakes. They were tasty. Staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

Excellent cafe! The food was delicious (we liked it so much we came back three days in a row!) And the staff are super friendly.

Cozy cafe with very friendly and welcoming staff. Delicious sandwiches, waffles and pastry. And nice coffee as well. All with a very good price. Highly recommend!

Takeaway my breakfast (tuna mayo & egg mayo sandwiches + americano coffee) at this cafe after staying a night at Grace Hotel Semporna..great staff & services but limited tables & chairs..

Ordered tuna salads and a roasted chicken Zapiekanka. Lettuce was fresh and crunchy. Portion was generous.

Food is good and big portion. Cafe is good. Service is fast and the staffs are extremely friendly. Highly recommended.

Amazing place, clean, food was delicious - they are adding small salad to sandwiches, raw vegetables are life saver in country where almost everything is fried :)

Very clean, western- friendly cafe with delicious, crisp, fresh salads, a selection of hearty sandwiches, and a few choice mains. I really enjoyed my roasted chicken breast and crusty bread, plus my mango milkshake was rich and creamy.
Courteous, attentive service, too.
I will return, I understand their breakfasts are outstanding!

Really nice little Café, very good waffles, good western breakfast set and the owner is a nice guy to talk to.

Great spot especially if you’re looking for a change of pace. Went for breakfast and had a scrambled egg sandwich on a whole grain bun. It came with a nice salad too. Employees are super friendly and speak English. They have different choices of bread and even bagels.
I ate inside with the nice cool air con.

I had avocado salad, home. Made waffles. With mango and green tea... All very tasty and the owners were so kind after finding out the local ATM s were not working for me

I came across this western style cafe on my way back to hotel. I first bought baguette, as it looked good. Sure enough it was so good that I decided to come back again for lunch. Enjoyed it with Coffee Americano, real western style cafe in Semporna.

Must go if you are looking for something at your home.

Sick of the seafood? Then you should try this cafe. We walked in purely to get some coffee but I was attracted to the quiche and the bakery.
It’s always nice to have something different from the rest of the restaurants who are serving all the same food.
Raymond the owner of the cafe is very helpful with diving knowledge since he is also a diver! Kudos.

A nice and cozy cafe tucks near the Semporna jetty, the Zapiekanka is special and delicious Polish food introduced by the owner, and don't miss the waffle too.. It's yummy and refreshing for the hot weather..The owner and wife are friendly and we all have good chat with them about Semporna and life experience too..

I took a walk from the hotel I stayed, Seaview Hotel. It's about 10 mins slow walk from the hotel. Conveniently located amongst many local eateries, Borneo Rock Cafe offers a variety of meals, from Malaysia to even Polish. ❤ Reasonably priced. Met the couple who owned this place, Mr. Eugene and Mrs. Jane. They were very warm and welcoming. Definitely a place to check out if you make it to Semporna 💪🏼Merry Christmas🎄!

The place was really cute and clean! The breakfast was really good too! We tried their waffles and their highly recommended bread/sandwich

Best breakfast place in semporna! The waffles are soo good and the staff is very kind. (For waffles you need to go after 10 am)
