Soon Long Yam Rice 顺龙芋头饭

This is the BEST 芋头饭猪杂汤 i have ever had. Been patronising this shop for many years . Taste, standard and portion never drop. Compared to the next shop, this is simply better. However pls be ready to sweat like cat and dog in a hot day. It's like a oven in there. The only minus it has.

Simple and tasty.

The pork soup uses salted vege as a base and has just a right amount of saltiness. It can be ordered with or without offal and the basic without offal comprises a mix of pork belly, sliced meat and meat balls.

The yam rice is smallish but satisfying. It contains bits of dried shrimp that enhances its flavour. Comes with spicy chilli paste mixed with dark soya sauce

Yam Rice is a strange food combination. Firstly, it's not very famous or common, so it's pretty hard to find one. And to find a delicious one is even harder.

But if you are ever in need to find a good yam rice, this has to be a destination you need to visit. Don't expect too much from the decor. It's simple and it's what you expect in a coffee shop. Tables close together. The din of customers talking. It's not air conditioned. Just a few fans to give it a good breeze.

They have yam rice and white rice. The aim of coming here is for the yam rice but if you don't like yam rice for whatever reason, at least there's white rice as a choice.

Their signature sour soup is superb. The taste is sublime. The saltiness and sourness is well balanced. Smells just as heavenly. I would suggest that you order the soup with everything. Everything is cooked succulently and tender to bite. Even the blood jelly has a nice consistency without being too heavy in it's blood taste. The best thing is that the soup can be REFILLED!!!

I didn't get a chance to try their add ons as their bean curd and egg had sold out by the time I arrived. This place is generally packed, so be ready to wait if you come during lunch hours. Don't come too late, they start running out of food after 1.30pm

Foods are delicious and value for money, just need to queue for a while

Never to miss yam rice in Butterworth. Must try and you will know what you are missing.

Service is quick and not too many people. Limited seats due to dine in restrictions.
