Nasi Kandar Pelita

After I eat at this Pelita Nasi Kandar branch. I never eat at other branches because this is the best nasi kandaq I have tasted. The first and best Pelita Nasi Kandar branch ever in my honest opinion.
Tapau one for the road and eat it for dinner (ask for kuah & ayam madu bungkus asing and reheat and pour it all once I ate it at home, like ready to eat meal)

As with all iconic food there will be many 'names' or 'brands' to choose from and most of them once they reach a certain popularity level will branch out. Same occurs with nasi kandar. I have always been interested in eating at the heart of franchise brands. The original store. The one that started it all

In the case of nasi kandar pelita, this is the one that started it all. First as a stall then taking over the whole shop the spreading into branches elsewhere

This place is usually packed and for a good reason. They have multiple choices and most of the food is fresh and cycled through quite fast. The spice and balance of flavor is superb. You can as usual choose your favorite gravy or throw it to the wind and ask to campur, putting the fate of the gravy combination and your tongue's risk to the skill and experience to the man behind the glass.

Their best dish is undoubtedly the first chicken. Always fresh. Always hot. Always crunchy and always will flavored.

The best thing I like is the itemization of the price. No more do you get the arbitrary total cost leaving you scratching your head. They come itemized with each item / dish cost so that you are satisfied you are not being overcharged

There's only one thing I don't like and that's the parking. It's notoriously hard to find a parking space.

All in all fully recommended for an authentic nasi kandar food taste.

Ordering was a bit confusing for me, they uses tab ordering style here. You take your food, they give you a number, go sit somewhere and a guy will come to take your drink orders next. I was a little confused with this service as that was my first time facing such option. Overall however 5/5, that mutton was satisfying for 20RM

Nasi Kandar, one of malaysian favourite. No doubt about it.

Ordered Nasi Kandar Ikan Goreng, the fish freshly cooked and nice seasoning. Here the curry taste is good, little bit spicy, really love it.

Vegetable its like normal. Another you must order carrot susu, its sweet and tasty.

The first Pelita Nasi Kandar shop. They first started operating from a stall and in a few years it grew into several chains of shops all over Malaysia.

This shop still retains that kedai Mamak vibes and the Nasi Kandar with all the curries and sauces put together was amazing.

Cleanliness could be better but then it is an original Pelita. So expect that old school vibes unlike the Pelita's in KL.

Pricing is definitely one of the cheapest Pelita as it is frequented by locals.

In the evening perhaps after 5pm they start serving nasi minyak. My girl craves this rice, enough just with fried chicken. It was raining so queue was 4 people in front but in n.kandar place when even 1 customer starts to ask what is this, what is that u know it will be a long time before your turn.

This is the HQ of its Nasi Kandar restaurant chains. Located in residential are at a busy junction, quite difficult to get a car park here. Doubtless tasty Nasi Kandar, gravies and dishes, don't miss out to have a bite when passing by here.

My all time favourite Nasi Kandar Bistro in Penang. They have the ULTIMATE PELITA FRIED CHICKEN. A MUST TRY item if you visit this foodie outlet.

Must come and visit this Pelita Nasi Kandar . This is the first branch in Malaysia . Expect to queue up . The fried chicken is a must as it is fried fresh non stop !

Food is great. People still queue up late at night for the nasi kandar. Really shows how good it is. (their soup is also great)

Service is good. Fast service despite many people coming.

The atmosphere is good for lepak. Meal time is definitely full with people.

Almost all the time people got in line to get their favourite nasi kandar. All kind of dishes available. Nasi kandar, roti canai, capati, tosai, mee goreng mamak, roti nan, sup.. you name it. Prices also reasonable.

So packed at lunch time.
