Chakra Restaurant

Came here for lunch on a weekday and the place was fairly empty. We ordered capatis with some accompanying dishes and they were cooked deliciously, everything was hearty and so yummy! Parking is available indoor albeit fairly limited. Overall a great place for Indian food!

This place was visited in 2019. The food is simply mouthwatering and, most importantly, flavorful. There is a wide variety of food to select. We ordered the country goat biryani, which was outstanding. Likewise, the other dishes were excellent. The manager and staff were extremely attentive, and the food arrived quickly.

The setting is that of a traditional Indian home. The building is historically significant and well-designed for the customer. The price is slightly higher than average, but well worth it!

Fantastic indian food, Immaculate service, extremely warm hospitality. I don't know of any other family restaurant that is serving patrons out of the very own family home they grew up at!
Take some time after your meal to look at the photographs and antique items on display and absorb the heritage that is Chakra!

Delicious food, best enjoyed sitting outside on the terrasse. Interior dining eooms feel cramped and have no particular charm so enjoying a warm evening while looking at the surrounding trees is a good option.

Prices on the higher side by local standards, but food is well worth it.

Hi .. i am from india, Tamil Nadu. Visited Singapore where my son works and lives. This was my first visit to the restaurant. We ordered pepper prawn masala. Romali roti, chicken biriyani, masala tea and gulab jamun. Food was extremely tasty and no complaints. Very authentic and i would surely recommend this restaurant. I actually wanted to take our lunch in Abdul Jabbar Biriyani hotel, but we came to know that it would be open only in March. My son read many positive reviews about the restaurant. The ambience was not attractive but the taste is extremely good.

Catering service from Chakra is absolutely worth it. Everyone who came to my event enjoyed the food and we would happily order again from Chakra. Thank you for your service and hope the quality to be maintained. ☺

If your are in Johor Bahru n ur an indian food lover.. u shouldnt miss this place.. its 2 storey old house turned into restaurant.. it looks classic.. food was amazingly good.. service are too.. Surely recommended

Found this very old bungalow turned into a nice Indian Restaurant. Nice ambiance. Very old and antique deco fills the place well. Food was good, service is great and warm, price is very reasonable!! Definitely coming back again. Thank you

Authentic Indian cuisine, taste incredible with wide variety of choices to pick from. Make sure you’re not in a hurry to enjoy your food as sometimes especially weekends, it will take sometime for the food to be served but I’m sure the wait is definitely worth it! Slightly on the pricey side

Food was top notch, as usual. I've been to Chakra with family few years ago and the taste of naan and all the side dishes was THE SAME. 😍 This time, I ordered Panneer butter masala, Gobi manchurian dhal tadka. All of it was apt to my taste buds. Ordered variety of naan and all of it was soft and flavourful. The mango lassi and sweet lassi was delicious too. Only disappointed with the gulab jamun, it was a little hard. 😞 Otherwise, the service was good. Price, is not too expensive but for a student, it's not affordable. A must try Indian restaurant in Johor Bahru for north Indian cuisine. ☺

One the best Indian restaurants you must visit when you visit Johor Bahru! Even the Johor Sultan have visited this place TWICE! Because it is authentic Indian cuisine serve with varieties of nasi briyani (chicken or mutton briyani the best), varieties of chicken (Chicken 65 my favorite), and lastly their LASSI (Thick homemade yoghurt drink in layman terms). Prices are affordable and cheap, me and my girlfriend spend about RM90++ for a nasi, a chicken, a naan and two drinks. This place is suitable for big group as well and the portion of the food is big too!!

Amazingly superb food. Tried just a couple of items I was craving for. Mutton roghan rosh was mouth watering. Palak panner was creamy and fantastic. The paneer was fresh. Seemed like it was homemade. Service staff were friendly and polite. Parking attendant was helpful. I will patronise this place again.

We had dinner here, my sister recommended this restaurant to us, she always order mutton briyani here. We came here 2days for dinner, the food was delicious, my mom enjoyed it and I’m not sure the waiter’s name “Sakip” ? He gave the best service for us, they way he take care us is the best part, that’s the reason why we came here for 2nd time. 😊

North Indian food is Excellent and spicy too.
