Hi Amaya restaurant,

My name is faizal. I have made a reservation for my wife birthday on friday, dated : 16th Feb, 2024.
I was there at 8pm for the dinner buffet to celebrate my wife birthday. I would really want to compliment and give a really good feedback regards to your superb excellent service and food! First of all, starts with the reception area at amaya restaurant. I was well greeted and was warmly welcome by your staff. Two of them was st the counter. We were being greeted with a warm and friendly welcome, and they are so profesional. We sat down and survey the food varities before getting pur foods. Both of our kids, enjoy the pizza, chicken rice and the dessert! For us, we try everything. The varieties of food was really alot, and yet it was amazing! We tasted almost all the seafood and other dishes which was there. OYSTERS! Really fresh! While enjoying our food, we were approach by a gentlemen didnt get his name. He urge us not to forget to try to bbq grill outside the station. We were like what??? There is a bbq grill?? We quickly walk out at the back of the restaurant, and wow! There were so much grillz from grill seafood, grill lamb, the sauces, and live pasta! We tried all! Its was really delicious. I would really recomend this restaurant to everyone who really wants to enjoy their buffet dinner. We have gone to, Cafe BLD at Renaissance Johor , makan kitchen, and kuroma. BUT this particular AMAYA buffet, is the best for us. We have explore most halal buffet hotel in Singapore. I think, this can really beat Singapore halal buffet! The staff there are very attentive in clearing the plates everytime we finish a meal. I accidentally drop a spoon on the floor, of the the staff rush over ensuring i dont bend down to pickup the spoon. He quickly pickup for me and change a new one for me. I never see this kind of service before in Singapore. Inwas really amaze! Not forgetting the dessert, ice cream , softy! The ice cream is not normal ice cream. Its a softee! My kids and my wife really enjoy it. We try the ice kacang, superb! And the best, was the cake dessert choices, my wife went crazy testing all the cake dessert. For me the highlight dessert was the SERAWA Durian! I keep taking it! Its was really delicious especially with the pulut... it was really a mouth drooling.. One thing that we did not get to try was there, hot beverages. As we were running out of time. Next time, we will go there early. To eat as much as possible. Thank you Amaya restaurant, for making, my wife bdae dinner celebration a memorable one. We are planning to come again soon. We will love to come again to have your buffer dinner again. I was told it was only on friday and saturday. Kindly please relate to your team that was working on 16th Feb dinner and please give my best compliment! My reservation was under name of Fidzal. We will see you again very soon!

i heard the review from my cousins and fiancé who had stayed at amari. they enjoyed the breakfast so much that my niece had asked to book another stay. i had to try it myself. and definitely im skewed to team amaya. i love the hot chocolate pudding the most. followed by the johor specials (lodeh and sambal goreng jawa). the teh tarik is superb too. we will definitely come back again with our cousins.

Stayed at Amari JB last week, the room comes with breakfast inclusive. The buffet breakfast at Amaya Cafe was massive and we had it for 2 days yet did not really taste all of the dishes. The cafe nice decorated with clean setting serving stations.
All the staff very friendly and courteous with their greeting gestures and always smiling. Greeted with a great smile at the entrance to the cafe and shown to your table. Chef Hairi and his team at the egg and pancake station were very friendly and helpful. Also not forgetting guest relation Mr Sasi who came to enquire about our meal and experiences at Amari.
The food and dishes served were scrumptious and continuously top up or added with new dishes...great job guys, we will be coming back again

Really enjoyed the weekday RM128 High Tea here with my spouse.

The food is great and delicious except for the lava cake topped with ice cream. The tea are from TWG.

The lava cake has a very terrible burnt smell after they poured the "chocolate sauce" over the hotpan. End up we only eat the ice cream and a few mouths of the cake because it was awful.

The lava cake that is the best (not at this place) is that the hot chocolate sauce is actually inside the cake rather than outside. Once we cut the lava cake, then that is where the hot chocolate sauce will drool out.

I will return to have the High Tea here again but not the lava cake if it is the same pattern.

Highly recommended Ramadan buffet dinner in Johor Bahru, especially to my fellow Singaporeans as It is one of the luxurious buffet dinners near to the check point.

Some of the food photos I uploaded here are definitely MUST EAT. I was overloaded with great food & desserts, as well as live band performance. Tip top food & ambience. Love hanging out there after makan.

Have had 2 sets of TWG high tea set on Sunday. One set inclusive taxes is at RM70. I would say the CP value is very high - it’s hard to get TWG tea served at this kind of price set; you would get to enjoy a good ambience and a basic experience of what a traditional English high tea should be (some will only focus on serving sweet dessert instead of savoury items). In addition, the last item served is a brownie with ice-cream poured with chocolate liquid - a slight tweak of a chocolate lava cake and now becomes instagrammable. For the food quality, overall is good except for the macarons which requires some area of improvement.

On top of their services rendered which are being professional, we are very appreciated that the staff (believe is the in-charge there) assisted us on the complimentary parking ticket (even this is just a small amount) which is usually offered to hotel guests for most of the hotels.

We will definitely recommend their high tea session to friends.

I've visited Amaya Restaurant for Hi tea on 3rd Jan with my colleague. We enjoyed the visit and had a wonderful evening there. In addition to a nice environment we met a delightful Restaurant Manager and his service crews . They made certain that we had everything we needed. My colleague really impressed and so do i. Definitely will go again just for their signature chocolate meltizer..Thanks again Restaurant Manager and rest. This restaurant is highly recommended just to enjoy their variety of options and their flavorful and reasonable price. .

These were our second visit to the Amaya Cafe. We love the buffet spread, many varieties, chef Kenny was friendly and giving hospitality towards my family. Ifzan was helpful as well. I came not just because of the food but also the staffs who are friendly, helpful and attentive. Food wise was nice. The only thing is that the oyster, it should be cleaned properly with sandy and shell taste in it. I have to spit it out. The sashimi is not cleaned properly as well with the bones still in it. The sweet and sour seafood was too sweet and the tempura sauce was too salty. The tempura sauce I had feedback during my first visit but nothing changed and still salty. I hope the head chef should brief the staff about it. I hope the next time round I will see some improvement in the food and make the customer happy.

We were welcomed by Mr Ravee and his team. Came in a group of 22 and asked for a discount. They are willing to work on a price tailored to your budget. Excellent customer service and a huge diversity of food choices. Really enjoyed the night with my friends!.

Had the Christmas themed 3 tiered afternoon tea that came with a pot of TWG tea. Scones and chocolate brownies were good. Service was great, would go back again.

Had the TWG high tea set for two. Rm68 inclusive of taxes. In all we had 11 item in the set:
1. Pandan chicken
2. Lemongrass prawn ball
3. Macaron
4. Smoked salmon open face finger sandwich
5. Mini croissant with Thai basil minced chicken filling
6. Som tam salad served in shotglass
7. Red ruby with jackfruit in coconut milk
8. Scones with jam and cream
9. Egg tarts
10. Thai mango with glutinuous rice
11. Brownie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

The set came with a mug of TWG tea, ours was Moroccan mint.

Overall the taste of most items were pleasant. The most impressive and delicious was probably the brownie, which we requested to serve last. There was quite a show when the waiter poured the warm chocolate sauce on the the brownie, as it sizzled rather excitingly on the hot plate the brownie was served on. The warm and rich texture of the brownie together the bittersweet chocolate sauce and cold vanilla ice cream was an immediate pleasure to the palate, and me and my wife both enjoyed it immensely, and straight after immediately rated in our No.1 amongst all the food items.

The croissant was also well made with rich buttery flaky texture, albeit on the cold side since it must have been awhile since it left the oven. The combination of savoury basil chicken with the buttery croissant was also a winning combo.

My wife's favourite was the Pandan chicken, which was savoury and slightly sweet with a hit of spices and gentle pandan fragrance. This dish together with the lemongrass prawn could do better if they were served hot immediately off the pan/ grill.

The only not so great item was the macarons, which were overly sweet. 'Nuf said.

Generally all the flavours were well balanced and the sweet items were surprisingly not sickeningly sweet, which gave us a pleasant surprise (with the exception of Macarons). The tea was also nice and a great palate cleanser with a refreshing mint taste. We polished off everything else and returned home full and satisfied.

Definitely worth a return visit.

We celebrated my son and friend's birthday at Amaya Food Gallery yesterday. Ms Affiza who is the F&B coordinator has been a great help. I told her the colour theme for the birthday decor and she did it 100% to everyone's liking. In fact, the decor done exceeded my expectations.

A good place to bond with family & friends over the weekend Hi-Tea buffet.

Never miss ordering their Chocolate Lava Cake whenever I’m staying at Amari or sometimes just drop by to dine. The Chocolate Lave Cake is very delicious! Few months ago Went to Amaya Cafe and surprisingly the malay lady short hair wearing spec still recognized me. Can’t remember her name though. Thumbs up for her service that makes me feel welcome and coming back for more! Such a friendly lady :) Amari will always be my first choice in JB.
