A quirky hotel in transition that you will either love or hate. I really like it. A lot.
New owners have spent money where it matters. Electricals have obviously been upgraded, with new sockets, switches and lights. Largely new bathroom suite and fitments. Shower works well. Even the cheapest rooms have safe deposit box and large refrigerator. Big quality kettle. Cups, coffee and bottled water.
Rooms are large, beds are really comfortable, linens look fairly new, and I slept well.
Two comfy little buffet stools, reasonable workspace, power sockets are sensibly placed, including right by the bedside. Deluxe rooms also include funky easy chair and psychedelic paint jobs.
Bathroom is big, brand new hair dryer attached to wall.
Quality of air inside even the standard room with no window is good because the corridors make the building breezy. Aircon is effective once it gets going.
None of the above can be taken for granted in a super budget hotel in JB. So well done to the new owners.
Overall layout of hotel is unique and strange, not to mention the rainbow colour scheme which grows on you after a while. Sprawling with long wide corridors. Reminiscent of an American motel. If you are ok with that then you will probably like this hotel.
Desmond who seems to be managing the property is fantastic. Very friendly very interesting and very informative.
Vir on front desk is exceptionally professional and helpful! Some of the other staff may benefit from basic hospitality training.
Check in can be painful.
However overall it's outstanding value for money in an excellent location on Jalan Kuning with 100s of great food places of all prices North, East and West -- most of them walkable.
PS: great view from smoking area on level 2!
Recommended if you're feeling adventurous and want to save some extra $$$ for shopping.
There's lots of things that aren't perfect but it's very comfortable, great value for money. You can overlook the small things when price and comfort are this good.

Nicest budget hotel so far + affordable price. Inside room includes safe box, fridge, electric kettle which don't think other budget hotel will provide those things. Got breakfast some more. Looks like old building but converted into budget hotel. Impressive!

Well run hotel for a decent price per night. Been there twice and both times the room was good. Just need to improve housekeeping as some of the linen isn't very clean even when freshly changed.

I get pretty much everything with such a low price. the room includes TV, fridge, hairdryer, airconds. My only problem is, it is not walking distance to jb sentral. but grab fare only rm5-6.

FANTASTIC! GREAT HOTEL! Slightly further from food shops and the main bus service. The rooms have all full facilities including a fridge!! Fantastic bargain with breakfast!

A good place to stay, nice view and security, no worries about parking, plenty on the basement.

Hotel a bit inside all the way along Jln Kunning. Not convenient. If raining jialat.
