Didn’t have to queue on a weekday afternoon.

Moist, soft and lightly sweeten banana cake, goes very well with coffee. 12RM for a box. Will definitely repurchase if short / no queue.

There was quite a queue but it moved fast. I would go so far to call it a banana “cake”, it was more like banana bread but light and fluffy. But i ate it again back in my hotel room with hot tea, and it was amazing! The tea brought out the banana flavor and it was delightful. Would recommend it.

Popular fragrant banana cake that everyone love. They also sell other buns and bread however the availability varies on different time of the day.

Waiting time and queue can be crazy at times. Got to admit the banana cake is really good. But imho the kaya bread is the Legend!

Was honestly pretty skeptical about queueing in line for banana cakes but they were surprisingly soft and moist! Best way to avoid the queue is to come around 7.30am 😂 10/10 would come in to get this but maybe not if I have to queue 1-2h.

Also, on certain days there’s a Teochew cake stall in front of here that sells really nice red wine chicken(?) and seaweed with chicken puff. 10/10 would recommend these 2, but personally prefer the seaweed with chicken one!

Moderate queue when I was there, maybe because it is a weekday (Thursday). There is not much shelter outside so best to prepare umbrella for the hot weather.

Bought the famous banana cake and also some coconut bread for my colleagues. They love it very much! Will come again in the future!

My wife and I queued for the banana cake, which we heard was good. We were in the queue for more than an hour. When it was our turn, the banana cakes were piping hot, and the aroma was irresistible. We had to get some for our family to try. To our surprise, the queue behind us was even longer. The banana cake was legendary, and I will highly recommend everyone to give it a try.

The banana cake is very nice with just the right amount of banana flavour and is not sweet. Also bought the coffee cake but much prefer the banana cake. Went on Friday morning before 10am, less than 5-minute waiting time. Will be back!

Old school enterprise making the best banana cake ever! Moist and flavourful and not cloyingly sweet.

Coconut bun is also outstanding. They use a wood-fire oven for the bakes

I never visit JB without visiting Hiap Joo Bakery and Biscuit Factory. The banana cakes are the best thing in the world and they get sold out really quickly so get there early or prepared to stand around and wait!

There wasn’t any queue at about 3pm on a Tuesday. The banana cake was indeed very nice (even after two days) - fluffy, not too sweet and tasted natural. Quite value for money at RM 12 a box, which contains 12 thick pieces.

Queued for soft and bouncy banana cake. We came on a sunday and reached at about 10.30am. So there was no queue yet.

Would advise to come early for this as the queue can be quite overwhelming.

Though I have not really been here a lot of times due to the hearsay queue but after a couple of years back though the queue still happening (which means their cakes and bread is still very good) the speed of the queue (especially under the hot sun) is extremely fast… thought now each banana cake is 12rm but the amount seems to be like 2 portions more then normal loaf of cake. It’s still flavoured and smell great. Best eaten hot it’s shelve life is only mere 2 days. So just buy what can be finished…

Finally get to buy the well known airy fluffy banana cake after queuing for an hour.
Tried their buns as well--Coconut buns ( bun texture is so fluffy. Filing is not sweet. Kudos to those who prefer less sweet)
Suggest: for buns, you may steam for 1 min for consuming on the next day etc.

This shop is only for takeaway. There was quite a long queue during our visit but the service was quick. The owner lady is very friendly also.

Highly recommend the Banana Cake. Very tasty, a bit fluffy than usual banana cake, not too sweet.

Last time was nicer. But, so far it is still taste good. The banana cake is made with real banana, no added preservatives, very spongy, best consume within 2 days. Must buy if you go to JB

This is the heritage of Malaysia. Though the shop house is so 50s, the texture of the kaya breads still as nostalgic as the shop house. I like their bananas cakes. They are so popular not only in Malaysia but Singaporean treasure them too. Definitely pride of Malaysia and an iconic brand that all of us hold it proudly. Yet, the staff are so humble and helpful.

Ate for years and still was yummy!!! Tons of grouobuys available to hop on for this goodness. Looks so simple but the banana fragrance really just right and softness of the cake was omg. Great for all ages. I love to pop it into airfryer for a quick 2-3min to warm it up! Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside damn shiok.

Did not come here on purpose,we happened to walk past and read some reviews about the banana cake. The cake is moist and soft, fresh and no artificial taste. There was no queue when we were there, I wouldnt say it is worth if you need to queue an hour (say) for this.

very good banana cake and cheap too!
Inside is moist and not too strong in banana taste and sweetness, thus makes you can't stop eating one after another!
