Amari Johor Bahru

Appreciated the complimentary anniversary cake in our room. Room was clean, bed was very comfortable, and we enjoyed the pillow menu which allows you to select a pillow for your needs. Love it! Very professional front desk service too. Smooth check in and out. Breakfast was also better than average for JB standards. Highly recommend, and would come back again.

Love the stay here. This is our second time there. Location is good, there is a cafe opposite the hotel, 1 min walk. ;)
Car park is shared by 2 other hotel and company. But the lobby is marked with the hotel name hence easier to find the lots nearer to hotel lobby. Parking rate of 10RM is payable.
Breakfast spread is great. We booked the grand deluxe room, and the room is spacious and clean.

Pretty nice new hotel and room, located at the busy Johor Bahru capital. Limited multi storey car park. Hotel reception/front office located at 6th floor, the ground floor is just the hotel lobby. Water pressure was perfect, quite well equipped mini gymnasium and a nice at the same floor swimming pool. Room view only surrounded by nearby buildings. Breakfast buffet was an average with quite number of varieties.

Great stay, amazing location, and superb staff. Good for me to highlight doorman Sara, super friendly, very knowledgable, and very helpful. Parking is at multistorey, not difficult to get spaces, breakfast spread is good and delicious. The gym and pool are not big but adequate. They do have a nice in-house spa. If you choose not to dine in, plenty of good food within walking distance from the hotel.

Overall: Comfortable, and located in a strategic location with malls within walking distance. Stayed here because of apparently that's one of the accessible 5-star hotels here in JBCC.

What I liked:
• Warm and welcoming staff: The staff were consistently friendly and helpful throughout my stay.
• Convenient location: The hotel's proximity to malls was perfect for shopping and exploring the area.
• Comfy accommodations: The bed was comfortable, and the room was spacious and well-maintained.

Areas for improvement:
• Early check-in experience: Although I arrived early and was told I'd be notified when a room became available, I never received a call despite rooms being ready. Having to inquire at the counter felt unnecessary.
• Limited soundproofing: I was assigned a connected room with minimal soundproofing. I could clearly hear conversations from the adjoining room.
• Gym shortcomings: The gym was smaller than expected, and it lacked dedicated space for mat exercises or yoga. Additionally, towels were unavailable during my visit, which was inconvenient.

We had great stay there! The room was clean and location is good. Definitely worth the price. Not to mention, the breakfast is exceptionally good comparing to other hotels with similar rates.

However, its difficult to reach the reception. We tried calling them 3 times around 1am to request for shampoos and body wash but they did not pick up or return the call at all. Luckily i bought my own shampoos to use.

Also the bidet water pressure was low, it doesnt really feel clean.

Tv do not have alot of channels but the channel available is good enough to keep you busy because shows are GOOD!

Booked last minute due to disappointing stay in another location. Check in was smooth, room was clean and spacious!

Location is VERY close to JB Central area which is amazing. Recommend for any occasion really.

Sufri, duty manager (and his team) was 100% at service recovery. The mishap happened when we visited Dip Bar and was ignored for 10-15 min by their staff despite waving for attention. Sufri and team did an excellent job at service recovery and even personally met up for an apology.
Breakfast spread was great and extensive, offering international to Malaysian cuisine. There was even a live band in the morning (great singing too).
Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Carpets in the hotel looked dated. Location is excellent. Check-in lobby was grand and nicely decorated with Xmas mood.

Our first time staying at this quite-new hotel where the location is unbeatable (any location within 10 mins’ walk from CIQ is good)!

Check-in and out was fast and the size for a superior room is good enough even for a family of 3 (don’t need to upgrade to deluxe). Room & toilet are clean & very spacious, only small complaint was the aircon was full-blast even though I had changed it to 29 degrees! We snuggled inside the thick blanket also can feel the coldness 😂 This applies to the rest of the hotel including the lobby. I opted for just 1 day of breakfast but was given 2 days 👍 breakfast selection is of a 5-stars’ hotel standard, spoiled for choices! Only shortfall was that the waitress cleared all my plates and cup when I haven’t finished eating. No, there weren’t a lot of people queuing to have breakfast on a mid-week Wednesday 😅

Anyway, still a good choice for a comfy stay across the border with such reasonable rate! Will choose this hotel again definitely 👍

A very convenient location, nearby to most major malls, hotel staff were accommodating and polite, food at the restaurant were nice and we had a very good experience and received great treatment from the hotel. Hotel room was clean and nice. Overall I give this hotel 5 stars on everything. Keep it up Amari JB!!

A truly worth 5 star hotel, located next to KOMTAR shopping mall. The room is big and clean. We have a nice view of JB city. The hotel has kid-friendly room and small game room. The pool at level 8 is great. The Gym room contains almost all type of exercise equipment and it was very spacious. Best of all, the staff is very friendly and courteous . Will come again

This is my first choice of hotel of stay whenever I go to JB. After a lapse of 4 yrs due to pandemic, I stayed here again over the weekend and it continues lives up to my expectation.
The hotel shown no sign of age, it remains elegantly maintained.
Room is large and clean, comfortable bed, staff is friendly from the doorman to the checkin staff. Wifi signal is strong and with its strategic location near to Johor CIQ and mall. I can’t ask for better choice than Amari.
One area which I would like the management to consider is installing wall-mounted shampoo/body wash dispenser rather than the miniature tube.
Will remain my first choice, no doubt.

We had an amazing stay at Amari JB. The room was huge and spacious. Staffs were friendly and helpful and gave us an early check in.
A big shout out to Mubarak the concierge who was friendly and helpful. He was able to organise our private car transfer from hotel to Changi airport. A big thumbs up from our group who were worried about the cross border transfer but it was seemless. Will definitely stay here next time.

Very good stay for staycation!! The hotel is well kept and furnished. It looks grand inside out. Staff is attentive and polite ! The lobby is well decorated with CNY decoration, which fits the occasion and mood now 😀 😄 😎 😆
Buffet breakfast is fantastic!! And the morning band was an icing to the cake!! Buffet spread consist of both local and incontinental breakfast. The whole family loves it!

A really good quality hotel, room was clean and spacious, air-conditioner was cold enough. Great location nonetheless, they even have free pool table to play. However, some of the lamp socket could come loose.

I was genuinely impressed by this rather unassuming hotel. It was my first time back in JB after almost 20 years, and I was amazed by how much things have changed for the better.

First positive thing I noticed about Amari was that the staff was entirely helpful, friendly and pleasant. Not a single employee made me feel unwelcome throughout my stay there.

Next positive thing was my room. Totally clean and fragrant. Thermostat actually responds unlike some hotels. The toilet layout was well-designed and I truly appreciate the bidet.

Food was all-around good. Not super high class, but a nice level of upscaled local cuisine. The breakfast buffet and lunch services were enjoyable.

Location was also convenient. Near immigration and other notable shopping centres around the area.

As I was there for a corporate event, I was also pleased with the level of service and turnout that the Amari staff expended. Their welcome, catered food and overall service really made me and my agency felt like important guests.

I honestly wouldn't hesitate to return to this establishment for my next vacation in JB.

Relaxing couple getaway at the amari club room. My room on the 20th floor was quiet with access to club lounge. Cocktail hour from 6pm-8pm with juices, hot drinks and finger food which was quite tasty. Spread was adequate. Staff is welcoming at the club lounge but took some time to clear plate although not many people there. They also did not explain that we could order off the cocktail menu, we only knew when we saw the menu at the top of the coffee machine.

Room is clean, bed is comfortable, but pillow was a bit flat.

Checked out the pool, the pool loungers had small holes and the furniture looked a bit old and dated.

Breakfast was a good spread with live stations but the traditional kueh lapis etc was hard and the curry puff and spring roll was a bit too thick and seemed like the frozen type.

The prata and kirai was soft and fluffy but curries on both days tasted a bit too salty but had the right consistency. Egg chefs and prata chef was friendly.

Staff took quite some time to clear plates.

Overall, we are happy with our stay. Thank you!

Enjoy my stay here at Amari Hotel, was presently surprised by the grand lobby at the 6th floor and the good service of the front desk and free pop corn 🍿

The room is very nice and comfortable. The furniture seems new and very clean. All the room facilities are relatively new. TV system is new with phone mirroring and AXN Entertainment available. Like the study table and the sofa near Window.

Breakfast was nice with lots of variety and delicious.

Very comfortable stay. The staff are so attentive and making email communication with them is so easy. My first choice of hotel stay in jb.

Great value with great location. Located opposite Komtar JBCC. There is 7-11 below the hotel too. Room is spacious and clean. Comfortable bed and pillows. Breakfast buffet is good and has great spread. Excellent stay.
