It is a resort with a novel design concept which the rooms is built individually in the culverts. Therefore, the room space is quite limited but still comfortable. I suggest to choose the rooms with a separated washroom and room because if the washroom is attached, then you have to climb over the bed to access the washroom.

I highly recommended this place for staycation because the place is amazing and you can wake up to a stunning sunrise view from your room. The other facilities they offer are also great, such as swimming pools and exquisite leisure areas. The service is also good.

It’s a bit off Kuching town but very close to Sarawak cultural village. So if you’re visiting SCV, you could consider staying here for a different type of stay.

The place is very unique as you’ll be living inside a culvert, although a very cramped one. But the experience is worth it - it’s clean and the view is breathtaking. The sunset is very nice as well to witness from anywhere at the hotel.

The food served in the restaurant was good too. All staffs were very helpful and friendly.

Would suggest that you get the room with an an external bathroom instead of the standard one as part on your culvert, as the room could get a bit too cramped.

All in all, good place to stay for a night or two, but not any longer than that if you have no plans. Being inside the room for too long might be slightly claustrophobic.

Beautiful eco hotel surrounded by jungle, at the foot of a mountain just steps from the beach, and minutes from several of Kuchings best hiking routes (including two national parks). Rooms are very unique, comfortable and ours included an ensuite bath. The grounds are lovely - two pools with jungle views, lots of little hidden loveseats and alcoves. Very romantic stay, especially at night!

The place was surrounded by beautiful views. The staffs are nice to explain everything to me. I didn't rate full for the room because there's time I almost slipped off from the standing spot next to the bed.😅 my mistake actually but it is so nerve-wracking. The room is small. 2 person per room ya. If you are somehow claustrophobic, stay away. I loved the breakfast.

No amount of photos can truly capture how beautiful and breathtaking the place was. We absolutely loved the place! The staff, Mr Darren, Nana and the rest went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I cannot recommend this place more. I suggest to get the sea view suite. Pay a little more but soooo much more worth it.

As far as facilities and amenities go, the resort is very thoughtful. There's a surau, a library, private decks, two swimming pools, a lounge area, cafe and poolside bar, sauna and unisex bathrooms. The rooms come with slippers and a beach bag. The rooms could use a little more TLC in terms of maintenance like air conditioning, hanger rack in the shower and room door maybe would open smoothly with a spritz of WD40. The breakfast is simple but delicious and fulfilling - fried rice, mee goreng, sausages, eggs, toasts and cereal. There are also packages which make the place a perfect getaway for couples especially. The property is on a hillside near the beach with walking paths and stairways. The beach is accessible during low tides and there's two different spots to check out.

Went for a short getaway with my wife. The room was small (as expected for a culvert), however our package was great! Free breakfast, lunch and dinner, unlimited pool time, unlimited gym usage, great seaview, great nature vibe, great accommodations, and not to mention services. Despite the small room, they managed to offer the best deals out there for people who are looking to blend with nature. Probably will repeat my stay here in my next staycation!

p.s: I don't have any photos as I've promised my wife we're going to have a device-free staycation.

Very calm & peaceful. For whom looking to relax & rest body n mind, this is the place. The only drawback is the room quite small.

I like this hotel. Unique design. It has mini laundry which helps me a lot for a long stay period. Simple breakfast. Clean. Good view.

Had a one night excursion. First time staying here and I must say it's quite a pleasant experience. The theme as suggested by the hotel name is culvert, so you'll stay in a simple and yet comfortable room made of culvert. There are 2 swimming pools (one for kids and one for adults), a restaurant, a spa, a gym, surprisingly a library/reading corner guys!, Some of these amenities are readily accessible, some pre-booked or some could be still under maintenance/work in progress but I think the hotel is working on a cool concept.

Bring your own bug spray/repellent too.

It's a great place with private pool, view and beach. With the unique culvert as a place to stay, it is quite astounding. Very good place to stay a while from busy life. The food also amazing!

But from my view, it is not kid friendly with many slope and stairs. The culvert also only suit for couple.

This resort is well-maintained. Opened in 2018, The Culvert lies on a stretch of secluded beach right next to one of Sarawak’s most iconic landmarks – Mount Santubong.

Before make the booking, as usual I will read some reviews from previous guests. The negative reviews are came from guests who are staying in Standard room. Because the room is small where the toilet & bathroom are also inside the culvert. So u have to crawl on the bed to get to toilet. So, this is definitely not a good choice.

So, I choose to stay in Suite room. Just top up a little bit more to get a good experience staying inside the culvert.

They have 10 suite rooms. The best room with great view is King Suite. Its located right in front of the sunset deck. Make sure u stay in this room type to avoid disappointment. Toilet and bathroom are separated but en-suite.

They have 2 small swimming pool, Clean beach, library and nice restaurant.

Some of the facilities are not operated maybe because of the MCO.

A beautiful art deco hotel nestled in the rainforest with lovely views of the sea. Love the concept of using pipes for rooms. Food was amazing. Rooms are clean and sufficient for a couple. We took the king suite which has an attached bathroom and is roomier than the normal rooms. Perfect place to unwind.

I stayed here a couple of nights before a long journey, it was perfect.
Great walks and local areas to visit but also quite and stylish. The pool areas were busy but it was a national holiday while i was here. I also had the most wonderful massage, highly recommend. Staff were very helpful in making plans.I would recommend this place

Staying in a culvert was altogether a different experience. It felt a little bit of odd at the beginning but the hotel provided everything in that small space. It's very well organized and beautiful.
The front of the culvert has a stunning mountain view and the infinity pool got the beach view.
There is a free sauna bath one can take in a wooden room that is also shaped like a culvert.

Had a blast at the Culvert during my visit in Dec 2018. The establishment is unique and comfortable with an innovative design.
The units are very small, but whatever available space is thoughtfully occupied, having a beach bag, umbrella, torchlight, many towels for multiple purposes and even a tablet that comes with Netflix! There is a private beach with a remarkable, undisturbed sunset view that is rewarded to those who are willing to climb the many steps leading to it and a cute 2 person sauna that works well in the resort. Had a free buffet style breakfast which had decent coffee and spread with some fruit, toast with spread, scrambled eggs, porridge with toppings, noodles and hotdogs. The pool, is small but cozy, with a great view and service is prompt and attentive. I took a 2 way transport to the cultural village from the culvert at 10rm. Washing machine and dryer is available for use. There is a healthy crowd even during the off season of December and I'm sure the crowd will continue to grow! Left some additional feedback with the staff before I left the resort. Keep it up, it's likely that I'll be back!

PS. I'd like to thank the saint that helped fold my clothes from the dryer ^^

Very very nice view. If you're big sized like me, reccomended to book the suite room, more room for you to move around. Don't forget to explore the whole resort, worth every calories burnt. The ambience and the view is to die for.

We arrived around 12:30pm and the check in time is 2pm but the receptionist is nice to let us check in early. This place is indeed beautiful with nature and sea. Love the concept of the room round and unique. The room is quite small bcause i choose superior room. The moment you open the door there's bed infront of you. You have to literally climb over the bed to get to the bathroom. There's only 1 socket to charge phone. If you want bigger room choose suite room. And if you have no problem with small room then it's ok tho. But it's understandable how small the room bcause it round. Food is quite expensive but delicious. Lack of menu options. Hopefully they add more dishes in the future. Overall everything is okay. I have a nice experience here, very relaxing place and beautiful view. The environment is nice. And the staff is nice too. Love staying here. But the check out time is too early 11AM. Maybe will come back here again but will choose bigger room. Definitely perfect for short gateway.
