A really small airport but with ample seating while you await for your flight. There are also a decent number of taxis headed to the city too.

This airport is relatively small, given the limited number of daily flights. It features shops offering beverages and local products. The check-in counter staff were polite, and the security scan queue moved swiftly. The immigration staff overseeing the scan were also courteous. Hopefully, more flights will contribute to boosting Kuantan's tourism industry.

This is one of the small airports I have ever been to. The flight destination is only to Kuala Lumpur Airport. Even though the size is small, the cleanliness of this airport should be praised. The washroom is always in good condition.

Small airport with good facilities. Very fast check in process. Only few flight per day and the international is not in service due to covid 19 border restriction. The staff here is friendly and quick respond.

Reasonable for a state airport.
Flight: It has 3 trips from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur ( 2 in the morning, 1 at night)
3 trips from Kuala Lumpur to Kuantan (2 morning, 1 night).

Facilities:There are toilets, surau, atm and mini shops.

But if you want to eat heavy, try stop at the restaurant nearby before you reach the airport or you will be provided with light snack in the flight.

Transport: During flood season, Grab service is not available. Luckily, the airport taxi driver is available anda willing to drive you to the destination. The price of airport taxi is standard, according to meter. If the Grab charge you RM7, the taxi will charge you around Rm20. But it's ok as long as you arrive to the destination safely especially during flood season.

Car Park: For those who wants to leave the car in the airport car park, the parking rate per day is RM10 which is affordable and cheaper compare to international airport.

There is a cafeteria at very corner of the building but choice is limited. As this airport is a small airport, nothing more can complain about it. There is no self printing boarding pass machine. Incase festive season, it will expect to be crowded at checkin counter.

Security here is very strict, found it more strict than in KLIA Which i think it’s good thing 👍🏻

Car parking rate : RM3 per entry / RM10 per day

Inside airport : bag wrapping service, rentcar/airport taxi counter, shops, gift shop, surau, toilet, atm machine

No restaurant inside building.

A small airport, nothing much here. The best part is you can arrive in the airport by 20 minutes before the departure time (if you printed your boarding pass).
Walking distance from entrance to the airport to boarding gate is only half minutes!

Regional airport served by Malaysian Airlines, Airasia, Firefly, Malindo. It serves many tourist destination along east coast of peninsular Malaysia specially Pahang and bordering Teregganu. Scoot airlines to Singapore.

Like a number of the better smaller airports, Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport is a joint civil/military airport (MIG-29) and it serves about 1 million passengers per year. Situated just outside Kuantan, the airport also features a number of rental car companies, which keeps the cost of transport into town low

Sultan Ahmad Shah Airport meets easy-in, easy-out requirements of fans of small airports, but it is the staff that gets the most praise among airport experts and critics. Malay hospitality seems to go far here, which is a helpful issue at a small airport, where delays can sometimes be a fact of life

Nearest airports:

Kerteh (KTE), 88 km (55 mi)

Taman Negara (SXT), 109 km (68 mi)

Sungei Tekai (GTK), 135 km (84 mi)

Tioman (TOD), 156 km (97 mi)

Kuala Terengganu (TGG), 179 km (112 lmi)

This airport is truly a favorite of many travel pundits...
