The tour guide we had was entertaining.
A good place to learn about the 5 main tribes in Sabah. Interesting information shared.

There are different tribal food given freely for tourists to experience, and they are all delicious. There are dancing performances and also tribal drawing on hands.

A simple and yummy meal is provided at the end of the tour.

It was a great experience for us.

A fascinating place to visit. It takes about 3 hours. They will take us to get acquainted with the tribes in Sabah. Besides, we can also learn about their customs and traditions and try their traditional food and games. At the end of the session, there will be food provided.

Excellent experience. It is worth the money (100 MYR per adult) and not too commercial. Good info sharing about local ethnic / original tribes and good exposure (you get to taste lot of their food and similarly experience, for example, trampoline made of rattan). Houses are different for different tribes and well done. The place is also lush green and beautiful. Only negative was humidity, something which is just the place.

All staff were super hospitable. Our guide was Cosmas and very helpful and cheerful.

Drive to this location from city centre is also easy and beautiful.

Excellent place to learn about the different tribes in Sabah in one place. Beautiful and peaceful. While you are able to purchase tickets at the entrance, it is best to secure a booking online first. Do note that it is a guided tour. You are not able to walk around on your own. Depending on your tour timing, your ticket comes either with lunch or high tea. A not to be missed spot in Sabah!

Arrange the reservation before hand and pay the ticket when you get there! That worked very well for us.

Mari Mari village translating to Come come village in English was an amazing cultural experience🙌🏻 We got to learn about the tribes histories and see what their homes looked like in the past, the tour also treated us to some lovely local delicacies :)

Our tour guide nicknamed Ariel (sorry Ari if thats wrong) made the tour the best possible, he was humorous and really knowledgeable. The whole tour group was well taken care of.

At the end of the tour we got to visit the famous head hunters hut and those who wanted got a henna tattoo, then we headed to the performance the have at the end of the tour and lunch. I don’t have any pictures of the lunch but that is because I was too focused on eating it.

You should do as their name indicates and go explore this cultural place, thank you to the staff there for making it such an enjoyable experience🫶🏼

Great experience and exposure to the cultural village. Very entertaining tour guide. Interactive activities. Sadly was raining heavily that day so was inconvenient walking around under the rain. Buffet dinner at the end of the tour.

I think it was the best experience we had in our trip to Sabah so far. Our guide Zoul was hilarious!! He knows all about the ethnic groups, even speak some of the languages. We tried the local delicacies (rice wine, crepe, cookies, juice, honey..). He answered to all of our questions and kept us on the mood during the tour. Not at all annoyed. The locals made us feel comfortable while they share such a rich and special culture about the history our their people. We ate, laughed, danced, played, had a blast!!

Hope you guys leave long years sharing your knowledge to the world cause it’s very similar to indigenous people in south america and very important to the human kind. You protect the nature we are killing.

What a wonderful surprise this place was! I had my doubts as I don't usually do this type of outing but I gave it a go and was not disappointed. Not only are the guides cheerful & knowledgeable they are funny and make your day a wonderful experience. Interesting history of the native Malaysian people and how they live/lived good food and tastings of traditional food and drinks as you walk around. A+ would high recommend a visit, you can also visit the near by waterfalls for a cooling swim before or after you visit.

Amazing tour of the traditional long houses of key ethnics in Sabah.. Kadazan-Dusun, Bajau, Murut, Lundayeh etc..

Was greeted and guided by a softspoken and helpful tour guide, Stephanie.. thanks Steph..

A must visit place in KK..

Tour divided into 2 sessions, morning and afternoon (starts at 2pm).. make sure you dont miss the beginning of the tour..you can buy tickets online or walk in.. if buy online, they would have slotted you into groups in advance.

Tour is about 3 hours plus including lunch/high tea.

No surau in the area, as such you are advised to have done your prayers somewhere else before coming.

Entry prices is quite steep at MYR100 for adult and MYR90 for kids (12 year olds and below). Reasonable considering it includes the price for a tour guide who will explain everything about the houses, some ethnic snacks, traditional performance and lunch/high tea.

This is the most organized and well managed cultural village I have ever visited. The in-house guide are really experienced and taking good care of us (dedicated to Zul).
Must visit place for local & oversea tourist to have better understanding of Sabah & Sarawak's local culture.
Btw, this place has a daily visitors limit, hence please book in advance to avoid disappointment.

My wife and I went for this cultural village at 10am on 10.1.24. This place was excellent!

We learned about the 5 main tribes in Sabah and their respective houses. They also offered to sample some of their food, rice wine and coffee. Our guide, Wiwie was very friendly, knowledgeable and thorough in her explanation. We enjoyed every step.

This place is packed with tourists from many countries. As such, during peak periods it is recommended to book in advance instead of attempting to walk in as they might be full.

The food for the buffet they provided is acceptable, taste wise. Transport may be an issue because the place is somewhat remote. We got an Airasia ride there (RM30) and asked the driver to return at 1pm (RM30) which he agreed. The place does provide transport but it is at a somewhat pricey side.

Overall, this is a must visit place in KK. Toptip: we bookd our tickets at Pelago (RM90) insted of the official website or Klook (RM100).

Although it was touristy, it was well organised, highly educational and done with lots of passion, fun and love. Our guide, Evonne, was fantastic in explaining and sharing more about tribal life. The lunch was lovely too.

The only hassle is getting there if you don't have a car. Tip: Either book for 10am slot so that you can order a Grab when it drops off the afternoon visitors or arrange a return in advance with your Grab before drop off (Grab takes 20% commission + it's around RM20 one way from KK centre). It's doable and definitely a lot cheaper than joining a hotel tour.

Unforgettable experience, passionate guide - Mari, presenting her local culture well, very well. Stayed 3 hours without seeing the time flying. Hailing taxis may not be keen to go there and worse, to fetch people from there. By chance we met a wonderful driver, patient, quiet, safe while providing a lot of infos about his town. Warmly recommend him: Alex +60128435750

It’s a very nice experience, especially with the guide Evonne. She loves to share her extensive knowledge about all the tribes and infuses it with her humor. The tour was very enjoyable, the show entertaining and the food was really nice.

I believe it’s easiest to to go in the morning if you depend on a Grab, because you can order a grab around 1:30pm, and get one that brings people to the afternoon session. Alternatively you can arrange with your Grab driver to pick you up again. It saves some RM’s as compared to going with a tour, which is not necessary.

Find Amir for your local tour guide ! He is good and kind to help. again. Find Amir !

if you from other country or peninsular, just spend your money here. for RM100 is worth for half day viewing the cultural tribe at Sabah ! after getting to know about it, they will make some performance and provide food before leaving.

For those who are using public transport (taxi, grab). the place are not easy to get public transport after settle down.

Arrange transport to go back or to your hotel. and recommended to get own transport(car rental). Otherwise, they will charge you from here to Inanam with higher price than standard charges.

Enjoy the drink ! 😂

A very interesting guided tour of five different and largest tribes of Sabah. We get to see their houses, get to sample some of their food, drinks and snacks. Also get to see their cultural dance and the tour ends with a meal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Toilets are available and most of the tour is in shaded area.
