My wife and me had the absolute privilege to visit the paradise of culture, music, food and activities at this wonderful place. The efforts to make us welcome by everyone there is gratefully acknowledged. This gem of a place was led by Alden who explained and arranged a private tour. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE WHEN VISITING SABAH

Have visited during the harvest festival (30-31 May). There's FOC and some performances will be brought out in KDCA main hall, do check it out! Many stalls that you could buy their traditional clothes and accessories. During May, there are food markets as well, majority non-halal food but you are still able to get some halal food.

If you planned to visit during Harvest Festival, you might think to take a grab, round trip from KK city is just around RM 15.

Great place to know more about different races/cultures in Sabah. We had a great time here. We dance, play the musical instrument, jumping at the jump platform (in the past, this is the celebration after winning head hunting) , try the blowpipe (hit the baloon in single try) and learning how to produce fire using bamboo. Truly great learning experience for the whole family. From thewhitehairedguyandfamily.

Visiting Sabah for the first time, Wanted to go for Mari mari but it is crowded and very touristy, chose this place instead.

Our guide, his name is Aelden, a very friendly , fun and charming guy, we did the whole tour with him, he showed us around and story telling of the cultures. Really informative and interesting.

12 Houses, and they have many mini activities; instrument beating, beading, rice wine tasting, worm and more. 10 stars+++

Really recommend for families or elderly like us, it is a very relaxing place to walk around. Price is also a lot cheaper than Mari mari. Will come back again for the Harvest Festival as our guide mentioned.

Thanks.

First experience here during keamatan after MCO. Very happening place, warm friendly people. Food is really good. Parking is hard to find, so be prepared to walk or spend 10mins in the queue to hunt for parking.

Went to KDCA during Kaamatan Festival on May 31st. Crowded. Hard to move around. There were stalls selling local food, beverages, traditional accessories and few more.

Came here for preview of Keamatan festival which is a harvest festival for Sabahan here

There are food fair, cultural shows and competition for duration of 4 days until last day of May

We came to experience the culture of Kadazan Dusun here on their lifestyle, dances and customs

For food I truly enjoy the roast wildboar they selling for MYR20 for about 300g, and also the local rice wine of Tapai which is MYR12 per cup. Alcohol is strong in this Tapai, one cup definitely can knock you off

A fair sized cultural village which has few traditional houses from different cultures in Sabah as their exhibit.

You can enter the houses and see the available exhibits in there.

Went there during the weekday and I was the only visitor.

It’s been real fun visiting the cultural village! It’s near to the city centre, cheaper than the mari mari village, plus amazing crew and tour guide! It’s definitely worth the visit, and the tour guide is a must to make the visit more meaningful. The tour guide’s super friendly, being a local himself, he’s very knowledgable and most importantly, he’s patient with all our questions! So I personally think that the tour guide is a MUST if you want to know more stories of each ethnicity. Will recommend this place, for sure!

P/S: more fun when u come during the harvest festival! Tho for me, when I visit during the non-peak season, it’s as if we booked the whole place and the tour guide and staffs are performing JUST FOR US!

An eye opener to sabah’s diverse culture. Most happening every end of May during Kaamatan festival. Highlight is that you get to see stalls which serve pork and no pork next to each other, not a rare sight here. Kudos

A must to visit when you’re in Sabah! Friendly tour guide to explain the culture of bumiputera and you get to experience and watch their traditional performances too!

We really enjoyed our time in KCV. We were the only tourists on a Sunday afternoon. The guides gave us a welcoming performance and taught us how to play the Kadazan Penampang musical instruments. We visited houses of indigenous ethnic groups, tried blowpipe, jumping game and lihing. All the guides are so friendly. They also brought us to check out an event held by KDCA Youth Council and taught us some olden days card game. This is really an unforgettable experience at an affordable price @ just RM25 for Malaysians. Just purchase the ticket at the ticketing counter.

Can do some research before go to KDCA. You need to buy ticket if want to visit inside. Due to the ticket price a bit higher, so our family just walking around at their outside to have a look. However, this place still can go for a visit cause inside have various of house to check out!

*Free u guys some pictures of my grandma during our visit at KDCA 😆

Nice cultural place... But shame they don't look after the places properly... Make a hostel/hotel for tourist to enjoy the village n have bazaar stall every weekend n especially during the month of May every year celebrate Kaamatan the best...
