We stayed here in February. We loved it. The kampung hut is very kampung style but clean. Don't expect a 5 star resort. It has all the basic amenities and we stayed in the one with a kitchenette. Booking is easy - just text the owner. The place is not crowded at all. The river is quiet, and more accessible than Kolumpong. I would come here again.

Best place for clean and fresh water. You can see a beautiful scenery with Kinabalu Mount. Activities - swim and sleeping beside the river, nothing else. It is better to spend only a day there. There's nothing so special, but fresh water is amazing. Prepare at least RM100, but if you bring your own tent and canopywould be less than 30. The entrance fee is RM10, and the canopy is RM15 per day. Bring your own stuff, and that would be just RM10 only.

Good view of Mt. Kinabalu from the campsite, the stream was slow enough for a child to enjoy, the facilities are a bit lacking with only 1 bathroom for each gender, 2 toilets for each gender is enough. Overall a great place to camp.

Terrific spot for stargazing!

Booked for an overnight stay, checked in almost 4pm, the camping site were almost saturated. Some of the campers just took up a lot of space. Managed to squeeze in two-person tent under a canopy with the help of the staff.
It gets real windy in the evening, almost blow my canopy away. A neighboring campers helped me hold up to my canopy before I was able to put some heavy rocks to hold them to the grounds. Shortly after that, there goes a double rainbow. There's a saying you can't have a rainbow without a little rain, so what am I going to complaint.

At midnight, the staff switched off almost all lights to give way for the stargazing thing. Which is excellent. Thank God that the sky is full of stars. Memorable moments.

In the morning, beautiful weather, clear Mount Kinabalu view. Beautiful paddy field view too on the opposite side of the suspension bridge.

Campsite is clean, bins are available, some place are dirty maybe because of campers attitude. Clean rivers, chill water, good environment.
It's super hot as early as 9am, best to plan you activity here.

Suggestion : they need to have better water supply. At times there's only one pipe working over the cleaning area. In the morning, there's almost no water. I had to wait around 10 minutes for water to fill up my pail. Poor maintenance of toilet and shower room.
Suspension bridge are a little under maintained. Still good to pass through though. There are some stray dogs (the staff shooed them away) and there are some stray cats (who really trying to snatch my cereal milk).

The road to TTV is relatively good along Sg Wariu. The road in the village has many potholes, surely can be avoided if you drive slow and carefully

Verdict : will definitely return.

For people who like stargazing, this is the place. Very relaxing with the sound of river and cicada. Also the staff was so nice, once he saw us start taking photo of the stars he immediately turn off the lights, this is very important for us astrophotographer. Thanks for understand what we need. 👍🏻

Things need to improve only the toilet and bathroom facilities. Its clean but can be lot better

Although my stay was enjoyable, I have to warn those who are planning to go.. That the place is really humid in the afternoon. I dipped myself in the stream to cool myself down but there was nothing much I could do during the early evening when the humidity was still unbearable. I was lucky in the morning that Mount Kinabalu could be viewed clearly. And star gazing in the early morning was good too.

For those who like camping, stargazing and hiking this place is highly recommended, as for camping the you can go here and it is far from city life at night you can only hear thr sound of crickets, wind and river. If you are stargazer the come here the place condition at night its so dark and the sky was so clear perfect place to see star and admire the beauty of nature. This place also provide with hiking place with a nice view of nature and there are stop for wasai waterfall, it was so freshing. .the guide price also affordable its only rm50/per 5 pax, if u dont have any camp equipment u also can do a booking with TTV management for a rental camp equipment. Staff are so friendly and the village people are also will always welcome you. Btw if you are interested to go for a paddy field the come here the place is next to a beautiful paddy field. Highly recommend for those that love nature

Beautiful place to relax & enjoy the nature. We brought our kids along & we had ordered our breakfast, lunch & dinner meals from the locals (extra pay but worth the fuss of packing alot of foods & preparing the meals, we were on holiday so why need to hassle).Food was great because we can actually taste the Kota Belud's local foods. If you are bringing toddlers along, I strongly suggest the open air sulap/hut (just pack along a mosquito netting bcus we brought a tent & setup in the hut & it was really uncomfortable a night sleeping in the hot tent) Plus renting a hut is convenient, if it rains you don't have to worry much with the rain moist at night (tents get a little wet & moist). Toilets & shower are available. Safety is secured because there are security on duty even at night. But always keep properly your important belongings. Hiking is a must for active families 😁👍

Beautiful scenery of mount Kinabalu, river, paddy fields and stargazing....
Quiet, serene and peaceful outdoor camping with affordable price..
Very helpful and friendly staffs...
Nice home-cooked meals 😁

Make sure to bring mosquitoes repellent and sweater (quite cold at night)
Also it is helpful to bring a sandal if you plan to go by the river as the stones are quite painful to step on 😂
