Sri Devan Villas Restaurant

I went to the restaurant to have dinner as they have been open for a while.

Being a home cook myself, I can attest that the food served here are prepared in a way a proper home cooked food is made.

I ordered 3 idly's, 1 chapati, 1 plate of bihun and potato masala.

The idly is soft, not too sour, fermented, seasoned and portioned right. The highlight was chutney as the taste was mellow, savoury and not overpowering.

Chapati was soft and pairing it potato masala went well.

The bihun reminded me of having breakfast early morning with family members before a big event like wedding or prayers. (+ teh tarik to complete the meal)

Overall I am satisfied, the owners were handling the food and taking care of the shop shows how involved they are with their craft. Your favourite pops and mom diner kinda vibe.

I feel the word 'authentic' is bastardized with people who do not know to appreciate simple, tasty food. This definitely hits home for me

Oh and I paid rm 9 for the whole deal.

Hot vadai and karipap .. tried the tosai was great... Worth a visit...

Very friendly owner.. Customer service is very good. Food is very tasty if compare with other shop in Kulim.

Prices are getting higher and no fixed price. Depends on who serves you.. you order 1 veg, 1 chicken with rice and curry, you are charged rm9.50. The next day you go and order the same thing, you will be charged rm11. The pre packed papadom is never crunchy..

I recently visited the restaurant and waited for almost 10 minutes to get a karipap. When the owner, a middle-aged fair woman, took out three karipap from the display, she then went to the kitchen and informed me that only two were left. Surprisingly, she didn't serve those to any customer. Unfortunately, the two remaining karipap appeared to be undercooked and blackened. I was extremely disappointed by this experience, especially after waiting for so long. Treating customers in this manner is completely unacceptable.
