Love this place, rustic and rustic charm !

It's the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of big city life taking you back to the basics.

Just arrive with 0 expectations and leave all your gadgets laptops and stuff behind. Signal is not great so it won't help. Bring good old games, books (or kindle) and relax !!

Loved everything about our stay here. Amazing value for the whole package including transfers from Singapore.

The staff are a wonderful team and couldn’t be more lovely. The cabins are perfect for anybody looking for a rustic stay - don’t expect A/C, hot water or concrete walls but that’s clearly not what the resort is about.

One of the highlights was the food - delicious buffet every meal! With a mix of local and western food. BBQ night was extra special.

Will definitely be returning for another stay.

What is not to like about Rimba! The resort staff make your experience from booking to leaving impeccable. They arranged transfer from and to Singapore, we left on a weekday and the entire journey only took 2.5 hours.
Rimba is truly a tropical paradise, the reef is beautiful right outside your beachfront villa and we all snorkelled everyday. Adam is a highly skilled and patient PADI dive master and we got our open water PADI licenses whilst there.
All the staff are super friendly - Ben - fantastic cocktails, Sofie was so kind with our kids, keeping them engaged on snorkel trips while we completed our lessons in the "reef classroom".
Also recommend the bubble maker diving session for young kids to give them a taste of diving. The boat ride to Monkey bay beach was gorgeous with stunning blue waters.
The food was delicious, nights had a 3 course meal. Kids meals were great too.
The accomodation is rustic, there is no AC but the ocean breeze keeps it cool and the sounds of the waves crashing is so relaxing
Cant wait to go back!

Amazing stay again at Rimba. Our first time taking our small kids and they loved it, the staff were great with them!
It feels like a home away from home. The rooms are basic, but comfortable and sleeping to the sound of the waves is just 👌. Food is fabulous as is the cocktail selection at the bar.
Fantastic snorkeling on the house reef, even better spots if you take a snorkel /dive trip to one of the tiny uninhabited paradise islands.
A great natural paradise with something for the whole family.
Thanks again Mal, Adam and the rest of the Rimba crew!

They have one of my favourite drinks in the world here - Kelapa Cino (their version of an espresso martini).

Staff is also very friendly and lovely, go above and beyond to accomodate their guests. Though there's no AC, no running hot water and lots of mosquitoes but overall, had a great weekend that I've returned for a second trip.

We had an amazing time at Rimba Resort Sibu Island. The jungle vibes and lush green surroundings were dope. Our room was cozy and romantic, with a bed that was perfect for a relaxing vacation. Our evenings were lit and buzzing every night and the staff was super cool and welcoming. Plus, the beach itself was beautiful, with powdery white sand and crystal-clear water.

Was in Rimba mid March, it's windy and still experiencing some monsoon rain. But I love the quiet time, food is great and Ben's cocktails are 5 stars! Definitely would love to be back!

I had a wonderful weekend at Rimba Resort with friends and family this past weekend. The resort is very simple - huts with mosquito nets around the bed, fans above the bed, a basic bathroom and a deck with a couple of chairs to relax - which was all we we needed for our low tech, unplugged weekend away.

The information provided before our trip was very thorough and helped to to know exactly what to pack and expect. When we arrived the staff gave us a run down on the resort when we arrived, and as we had more questions they filled in any gaps - otherwise we were left to our own devices.

The food was delicious and as someone who follows a gluten free diet I was extremely happy with the variety of food that was able to cater to my dietary requirements.

The staff were fantastic with our whole group - from running a wonderful snorkeling trip out on the boat, to being wonderful with the three girls (aged 10 - 12) in our group and making them feel like they were important guests. A special mention goes out to Briony in particular for this!

We will absolutely be returning to Rimba Resort in the future, and highly recommend to anyone interested in a rustic weekend away.

Rimba was a dream. The hospitality was outstanding! Would 100% go back to do my diving course there as the instructors are very well versed. Also, the food was fantastic and the kitchen was very flexible in accommodating other types of diets. Views were top notch - corals are in abundance and during our snorkeling trip we saw a reef shark. Such a rare gem, would definitely recommend a trip to this place. 💚💫

Was a great weekend to disconnect from busy SG life. Simple and yet cozy and exotic huts, all was organised to perfection, the sea water was warm and clear. Snorkeling opportunity. The staff really helpful and kind. Thank you for a great time! And Nur is a pearl.

Stayed for 5 days spending NYE here and we absolutely loved it! Very accommodating, great food, friendly and fun staff. If you like nature and being a part of it, then this is the place! Open air wooden huts, open air bathroom, lovely balcony facing the ocean. Due to weather conditions we couldn't do any snorkeling or diving, but we had a fantastic time chilling at the bar, playing games and hiking. Great escape!

Its a wonderful place to let your hair down. Theres nothing to worry about.

For food: The food is amazing. You are never gonna expect what kind of food will be presented for you. You might not like the food there if you dont like fish.

Room: The rooms are very traditional. It is tidy and doesnt smell at all. Be prepare if you cant stand cold shower. They do not provide any shower equipments as well.

Environment: it is very clean and you can explore everywhere freely. Its beautiful and clean.

Staff: they are the best crew i ever know. Chat with them anytime you want!

Activities:.You can do snorkelling, jungle trekking and exploring you can do whatever you want!

Overall, definitely worth to go there. You will love it and you will want to be there again..

One of the best in Johore and near to Singapore. The tourists from Europe will find this resort charge a very reasonable price and it must cheaper than Singapore resorts. The sea has very clear blue water.

Perfect getaway! No fuss, no frills. One of the better resorts I've been. The chalets are nicely placed apart. Even with no doors, the privacy to your accommodation spells safety. The family had a very good experience having to live in a city. There is a well stock bar, great boarding food and best of all, house reef right in front of the accommodations.
The daily walks on the beach offers stunting views. If you want to have a bit more adventure, walk by the rock formation and sit under a tree or jungle trek to Sea Gpysy Resort for a swim and sand play.
All in all, the trip was memorable, kids shouting to head back and I have not stop sharing pictures with friends and relative about Rimba!

It is ideal. The trip and arrangements were easy and enjoyable as we were picked up in Singapore by staff of Rimba Resort and delivered to the island. I enjoyed every minute. My girlfriend is a long-time regular and her description was good but could not touch the experience. The African style huts were wonderful, with superbly designed shower and lavatory facilities in each hut as well as a comfortable bed, room to sit an enjoy privately beautiful sunrises, beach views and sunsets.
I don't think that there is high enough praise for the staff of the resort. I was completely impressed with the level of service, hospitality, friendly discourse and worldwide representation of culture. The food provided was excellent, worthy of the best places I have ever eaten, high quality, great variety, well prepared and service again astounded me. My only regret is I didn't have a month or two to spend on the island, snorkeling with great people and beautiful wildlife. Social time was never enough, given that there were only 24 hours per day. I left having met some life-long friends, relaxed and dined, swam and walked, solved at least half of the worlds’ problems and had drunk enough forget the other half. I can't recommend this exquisite jewel any higher.

The best bartenders I have ever experienced. Briony, Ben, Adam were wonderful and catered to our needs - we were a group of 40 and they were so attentive. Great service, would 100% come again.

We spent a really nice weekend at Rimba Resort. Cat, from the staff, was really helpful for planning the weekend and the staff in general is nice. The place is really beautiful, just between the sea and the jungle.
The food was really good (buffet and barbecue with meat, curry, prata... also vegetarian meals for our vegetarian friend). We did the snorkeling trip, that we really liked. So if you’re looking for a peaceful weekend, it’s a really good place to stay!

What a wonderful island resort. The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating to your requests and needs. The food was delicious and varied every meal, so many wonderful options to try. Lots of fresh fruit to enjoy after each meal as well. Delicious fruit drinks from the bar and alcoholic drinks and they were very reasonably priced. Beds were excellent and all had mosquito nets surrounding them. The huts were lovely, no screens on the doors or windows as they were all just free flowing, but there were roller coverings for all areas to block out the bugs and daylight. No air conditioning, but the sea breeze was enough to keep you cool. No hot water just temp is water, so have a shower early if you don’t like cool showers. Very rustic and natural setting, but so relaxing and special, with the waves crashing on the beach to lull you to sleep at night. Perfect.
We went for a round the island walk taking us through the jungle to the other side, then on to the local village. Walked through some of the other resorts and on to the a few jetties to get a different view of other islands. Saw the school and the local store, where we stopped for a cool drink.
Walked up and down the beach outside Rimba resort as the waters were too rough for scuba diving or snorkeling. Asked the staff for some bags to clean the beach from washed up rubbish. We also went wading and climbing through the rocks and found gorgeous sea life. Such a special experience.
