Light House Seafood Restaurant Matang

Must try the star dish of this restaurant.....Fresh seafood porridge. The salted egg deep fried mantis shrimp was also delicious.
Worth the drive from Taiping.
Restaurant is old and rustic but if you want good reasonably priced seafood and don't mind the dodgy service and atmosphere than try it.

This seafood restaurant located in Matang. Not very far from highway toll. About 15min drive.

We ordered a pot of seafood porridge for 3pax, that is actually a big pot enough for 4 adult. So take note of the size. There are about 5~6 big prawns in this porridge with price rm80 which we find quite reasonable.
And the karpa also very good, strongly recommended. The fried small fish was our favourite as well. Nicely done.
The kitchen will close by 8pm, so take note as well.

The Teochew seafood porridge is very delicious. The porridge is flavourful. You can choose the type of fish that you want for the porridge. The seafood is really fresh. The deep fried fish (the one in the picture) is really good too! A great place to go if you are at this area.

Having their seafood porridge during a rainy evening was extra good! Portions were generous, they have an English menu, and we particularly enjoyed the steamed lala.

If you can't get street parking, there is a paid parking lot opposite the restaurant.

The food is nice and affordable.. Interior is more to classic style and it's pretty pack with people.. Recommended place for outsider to try if passby taiping..

Origin of matang seafood porridge if you ever come to taiping this must be one of your pinned food trail you can choose your own ingredients of your seafood porridge seafood is very fresh and I guess price is very affordable especially for kl foodie they also serve other seafood dishes which taste is good and delicious lots of tables available but might need to wait due to overwhelmed business need to pay parking even you parked at road side as someone will come to you for that highly recommended

Located in a small kampong which is not obvious to any tourist. It was introduced from a friend’s friend. Food is fresh and delicious.
No aircont and it hot, please get to be sweat when eating.

Very affordable and fresh seafood meal.
This is one of the best place to dropby for lunch or dinner if you are travel from Ipoh to Pinang.
Recommended with the seafood porriage (you may opt for fish and prawn).
Crab Meehon, steam spiny snail, oyster eggs, fried small fish. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

The seafood porridge is a must have if you planning to come over. We ordered the LALA as well where the taste has a bit of sour but more on the spicy side which me and my love love it.

Porridge is around RM50
The Lala is around RM15 which is damn cheap.

Super crowded during festive seasons or long holidays. A popular tourist location. Food wise quite ok. Old zinc roof type of establishment. Thus, will be a bit hot and stuffy on hot and humid days. Tables are mainly catered for large group vs small group like 2-4 pax.

Good food reasonable prices. Must try their seafood porridge, oyster omelette, blanch octopus and stir fried shark meat

Best seafood porridge i ever had!
All the seafood in the poridge is so fresh, giving the porridge natural umami.
Another dish i love is the fried fish. Cant remember the name of the fish but just simply divine. The head are totally crispy tat u could just eat it but the flesh is still tender inside. Yummy!
Last one is what they called 乌翅尾, a kind of shark. Meat is really tender. The owner would ask u if u wan the liver as well, hmm, personally nt too recommended cause the liver only lightly cooked, so it was very fishy and soft the texture, makes me feel a little disgusted.
Overall this shark dish does nt taste really nice but can hv a try since is only available at Matang for this species.

Location kinda far from Taiping town. Out from the attractiion area. About 15mins drive from Taiping town. Worth drive over for lunch.

Best known for their delicious porridge. It is sad that the pandemic is taking a toll on them. Carbs ordered weren't as fresh as it would've been. We do not know how much longer they can last. Support them lest they fold.

Food is good, service excellent, it is better to go in the evening.
