I cannot say enough great things about Somberors Alberly Premium. I am so happy I came across this hidden gem. Quality hats with exotic material like snake skin, beaver and rabbit. Alex added custom touches right before my eyes. Come get your unique slice of Oaxaca to wear home on your head! It’s a must have!

Amazing experience at this store. Fully customizable, high quality hats for a price you won’t find in the US. Alex and Jadith are warm people and very talented. Amazing selection of styles too. This’ll make a perfect souvenir of my time in Oaxaca, and it feels good to support a family business like theirs. Cannot recommend enough!

Love my marigold hat! I work outside and wear hats daily, so this shop was a destination during my trip. I was helped by a young man who was very patient with me, it took me a long time to find the perfect hat! I do think the shop description on social and wherever else should update its cost from $$ to $$$. I felt the price I paid was fair and have no qualms with it but based on the information available online I thought it'd be cheaper.

An amazing selection of upscale men's and women's fur felt, straw and cotton hats. The variety of styles, colors and materials is almost overwhelming. The attractive retail store is located just a few blocks east of the Zócalo: Cinco de Mayo changes to Armenta y López south of Independencia.

The hats are handmade at a workshop in Ocotlán, about an hour outside the city. One can ask when a good time to visit is (when they're not overwhelmed by a particularly large order) and go see the whole process, something we would enjoy doing.

The man working at this branch is very helpful and accommodating, explaining the differences between hats; making changes with an on-site steamer to the crown shape or brim angle; and attaching different headbands. Another woman customer was having a crown shaped into a heart as a gift for her sister. We were informed that any hat could be made to order in 2 days; one traditional wool felt "burro" style requires the labor of 4 different workers!

The most stressful aspect of the visit was trying to decide which model to get. My husband finally decided on a softer wool felt hat that can be rolled up for travel: the salesman demonstrated how the hat springs back into the original shape after rolling. It's safe in the rain and snow of its final northern destination. I think I will be dreaming of hats tonight.

If you want the best quality hat in Oaxaca come to Alberly. I bought two hats and the quality is obvious from the hats they sell on the streets. Don't get me wrong my wife and I also bought two hats we liked on the streets becuase they were 10 bucks each but if you want quality go too Alberly. They will cost more but they will also last much more.

Alex was great and helped fit my wife and me for custom made hats. No detail was neglected and we walked out with the exact hats that we wanted. We highly recommend you stop by if you are in the market for a high quality hat in Oaxaca.

Really great hats. I had a custom hat made to my own bespoke by Alex. Great varieties of style, materials, and trimmings to choose from. Affordable for the luxury item that it is, but still not your mercado sombreros affordability. The one hang up I had about the whole experience, considering that it is a luxury experience to have have a bespoke hat and made to you liking, the final product when delivered was without packaging. To my shock, Alex just threw my hat into a plastic bag (not even a store branded, just a plain plastic bag), I asked for a box, he didn't have any but a giant one from some random manufacturers for some other hat makers. I guess my one advice for Alex and the store is; you are such a great brand and maker, the experience needs to feel complete, please make customs hat boxes to safely package for your clients when it is finished. It just cheapen my experience with my beautiful hat thrown into a plastic bag. I wore my hat out but I wished i had a portable paper box for my hat in my travel back to CDMX.

You will be hard pressed to find a better quality or more beautiful hat than here. Unique styles with all wool handmade quality.

The viajero that can be crushed and placed in your maleta o mochila is a no brainer buy if it looks good on you or as a gift.

What I learned visiting this store is that despite its mop of wavy black hair, my head had been naked my entire life. That’s the kind of hatter Alex is. Able to find or conjure a hat so perfect you’d swear you were born to wear it. Go let this man fit you a crown.
